Thanks 99bird!!

So I did a little more working on the rat than working on my job today but it was the first time in a while. Got the hood welded up and the grill on somewhat. Gonna need some hood pins and trying to figure out the rattiest way to keep it from flying off going down the road.

So I couldn't resist getting the exhaust v-band clamps put on and then hitting a few car shows this weekend. Also tightened up the rear end ad made a few minor suspension adjustments. Felt great driving her down the road this weekend but felt even better placing 3rd overall in the first car show I have competed in!!

Got the lights by welding some chain together, pet in the windshield and seal and also wrapped the headers.

Check out the vid as well

Chillin at Sonic

And a nice run to the grocery store

Gonna have to get some shocks on it though. Just a bit too bouncy over the bumps but surprisingly enough its a pretty smooth ride!

LOL! My exhaust is coupled together using the v band clamps and those are actually the 2 1/2" exhaust pipes but they make for one hell of a hood prop when you cant raise the hood without taking them off. HAHAHA!

Haven't decided on the skinnies yet but it is definitely an option. Just been enjoying driving for now and working out the kinks. Still need a good tuner that can finish her up and that's top on the list for now

Well I know this post isn't rat related but thought Id share it anyway. About a week ago I was visiting friends when my wife and I saw a beetle in a garage next door. We checked the car out and before we left my wife (who hates cars mostly cause I spend too much time working on them) said she really like it and that she would drive it. Within a week I had my search narrowed down to a select few. Last Sunday I brought home a 73 Super Beetle. Decided to park it at Autozone and picked her up to go shopping. Of course the shopping would be after making a stop at Autozone to dispose of some oil. I parked with the bug dead in front of my truck so she couldn't miss it. When she saw it she said, "Look its a bug like the one I like". LOL! Needless to say she took the bait and the video below sums up the rest of the story. Besides, now that she has her first classic now I can finish the rat and start on the second build....
