I've had 4 custom shafts made by Denny's Driveshafts and nothing ever looked like that..

I'm in the same boat as 85MikeTPI; All the custom shafts I've ever gotten were from Denny's Driveshafts and looked like the one he posted for the aluminum ones. His steel ones are closer to the one you posted build-up wise, but cleaner in weld quality. I ran/will be running a Nitrous Ready on my car (Guaranteed for life!)
the welds look fine, plenty strong, good penetration to both sides.
Mig welding aluminum is not easy. guess the guy does not have the coordination to tig. I know I do not.

Mine didn't have splatter like that; however I wouldn't worry about it unless you have a trailer queen and a powdercoated frame

take it to the strip and let it rip! That splatter is purely cosmetic. They should've knocked it off/down but it isn't the end of the world.
