Whats up guys! I'm a noob here, but I've been doing my research on a couple swaps on here. I'm about to start a swap on my 96 gt convertible...The plans are to pull the 4.6 and interior and smooth out the engine bay and completely paint the whole car(either satin black or satin white)....Im graduating college in December so $$ is tight and it's gonna take some time to finish....

Motor:
2006 5.3, 84k miles pulled from a suburban(completely stock & 706 heads)
Upgraded valve springs(zo6 springs)
Custom turbo cam
Arp head studs
Ls9 gaskets(MAYBE)
Ls1 intake
Pt88t4
Standalone harness or make my own
Custom turbo kit(truck headers flipped & mild steel piping)


Trans:
PG or 400(still undecided)
Stall(undecided)
Custom built driveshaft

Suspension:
UPR ls1 swap kmember with their adapter plates
Upr Fox body control arms(tuck the front tires in)
Fox body flaming river rack
Bump steer kit
Upr coilovers

I'm going to keep heater and AC and delete ABS and go to manual brakes....

Here is the 5.3....should I trash the 706 heads or just leave them??


This is the 4.6 in the car,has svo heads,blower cams,arp head studs,full exhaust...Still runs strong, but I need a change....
