Default Junkyard NA 240SX in the 10's


10.99 @ 126



This car has been LS Swapped before and was featured on LSXTV a couple of months ago racing a red GTO and going 11.1 @ 124. On that pass, I spun a rod bearing real bad (oil pressure was dropping hard during launches) and I thought I would be pretty much done with the car. The motor was a low mileage LQ4 6.0, professionally rebuilt, hand ported 799's by a very reputable local guy, BBK SSi intake, ported throttle body, MS3 cam and 240SX 1 7/8ths longtubes. I spent a lot of money rebuilding the motor and getting it the way it was so I was pretty bummed when I wrecked it.

Anyway, a buddy talked me into getting my car back on the road. I found a work truck ready for the scrap yard with 300,000kms on the ticker. Bought that motor for a few hundred bucks, put an Improved Racing GTO oil pan baffle in the bottom, slid my MS3 cam into the chunkiest cam bearings I have ever seen, slapped some stock 853 heads and a stock LS1 intake on it (I had sold my 799s and BBK and ported throttle body), bolted it to my T56 and trailered it to the track.

First pass off of the trailer it went 12.2 @ 124 MPH blowing the tires off. I knew it was going to be a good day.

Final setup for the day for anyone curious was launching 6000RPM off an MSD 2 step, 9 PSI in 26x11.50 ET Streets wrapped around an 8 inch wide pro star, stock rear differential and axles, ebay suspension arms and Tein drifting coilovers. Was very consistent with 4 back to back runs of 11.0, 11.0, 10.99, 11.0, all on 1.5 60 foots and trapping between 124 and 126MPH.

Broke 2 axles on the line that day, a first for me ever.


But junkyard blocks ftw! 10's NA after 300,000kms of work truck service. Can't beat an LS.

Wow man that gives me a lot of hope in running 10's as well NA. Props on going 10's with cam only.
