vss for a ford t5?

hey guys,
still can't get my foxbody swap running right, it wants to stall almost immediately and i can't get the idle right still. there are a few things i still need to check (I'm away from my car at school) but I just remembered i never hooked up the VSS. the wiring harness i got from speedway motors has provisions for a wire to be crimped in for the VSS. might this cause my poor idle issue? and i've heard a lot about Dakota Digital, but which pass thru vss do i need? im running a FORD t5 behind my ls1 and I'm still using the cable driven speedometer. thanks guys

A bad VSS signal should cause stalling at stops and such. If it won't idle at all I'd look at other things first.

Ok but I've been reading they're a good thing to have either way. So if I'd like to get one in order to rule it out as a problem and for the benefit of having one which one would it be?

I don't have my vss hooked up to my 1992 chevy truck 5 speed manual truck tranny 5.3 swap and truck runs great and idles fine.

Again, I appreciate your response but it really doesn't answer my question. At this point I'd just like to buy the Vss sensor because it would rule it out as a problem especially because I don't know if the person who flashed my computer deleted it. I'd just like to know WHICH vss I need to use with my ford t5

if you have a stock ecu you will need to get the vss turned off. otherwise it will start, run for about half a sec, and shut it'self off. take the ecu to someone with hp tuners and get it shut off.
