I extended my filter setup off to one side a bit more. I will eventually work on a cold air box down in front of the passenger fender. I drove the car to work today! What a kick in the *** it is. Hit the freeway on the way home and with the 4.11 gear it cruises at 65mph @ 1400 rpm in 6th and 70mph at 1500rpm.

LOL Tell you what, I sure would like to drive my '66 down that way later next year. Just have to make sure it's quicker than your car

I picked up some corvette fuel rail covers from Jegs this week. I had to enlarge the fuel line opening for my 8AN line and notch the passenger side for the throttle cable bracket and they snapped right into place.

The car has been running like a champ and loads of fun!

I've always wanted to modify a set of those covers with Chevelle instead of Corvette. Same amount of letters and you could use the same script. It would be pretty slick.

That's a good idea! I was thinking about smoothing them out and painting them so I could attach chevelle emblems.

I ended up selling my factory 4 speed console on ebay and started working on a custom console to cover the tunnel. So far so good. Just need to find some a/c vents that I like and get it upholstered.

look at an IROC console.

Here is one UNMODIFIED in my 69 nova.
You might be able to cut it down a little in the front to fit under you dash.
Just a suggestion, nice to use stock parts when you can.
Plus, it has a nice arm rest, carpeted sides and shifter boot.

Great job !!
Im doing my 66 Chevelle LS1/TKO as I type, theres a ton of work involved for sure.
I have a few questions;

What front pulley assembly is on your LS ? I have a Camero assembly and the alt. hits the steering box, so it has to be relocated.

Im planning on routing my harness through the tunnel and installing it under the pass. seat. Where did you put your panel, with relays, fuses comp. ?

What type of fuel filter is that ? Is your return fuel line dead ending at the filter, rather than at the fuel tank ?

Thanks Bill

Thanks Groper, I'm really enjoying the car. These motors are amazing. Good luck with your project! Have you started a build thread on the site?

I'm using the Holley bracket and spacer kit.

I installed my fuse/relay panel and computer on top of the tunnel under the dash. The console I'm working on covers it all up.

I'm using the corvette fuel filter/regulator setup. I'm using a 2002 LS1 with returnless fuel rail. My return line is about 3 feet long and goes from my regulator to the tank.

I bought the filter/regulator from Jegs

Nice job on your swap. I am working a deal with another guy to pick up his 64 wagon 2 door this summer. I'm thinking a 5.3/4L60e combo with A/C,cruise,the works. Should make a fun cruiser/family hauler.

Hey gang, I finally got around to getting my console finished up. I took it to a local upholstery shop and had it wrapped. Here's my end result.

Default Fuel tank return line

The car is tubbed so the stock fuel tank is long gone. I'm using a Jaz fuel cell in the trunk.

Very nice custom console!!!!
I was doing some searches for custom consoles to accomodate a T-56 and yours inspired me.
Definitely doing my own, instead of these bandaid replacements from 4th gens or 3rd gens, or Factory ones.

Update:

I've been busy doing all the body work and paint on the car over the last few months. Ended up turning my garage into a booth to spray the car. I'm very happy with the turnout.
