Oil Pan question
Oil Pan question I was wondering if I could swap an oil pan and pickup tube from an f-body onto my 6.0 by myself or should I get a shop to do it? Do I need any special tools? Sorry, this will be one of my first times to wrench on my engine. Please list everything I could possibly need to complete it. Example: pan, pickup tube, gasket, locktite, or anything else including any special tools that I might need. All advice appreciated.

If you are swapping the F-body pan, baffle tray, pick-up tube and windage tray from the F-body motor then this should be a straight forward swap if I am understanding you correctly. You can't mix components because the 6.0L pan is deeper. You can reuse the stock gasket and you just need to use a dab of silicone gasket maker in the corners of the pan when the front timing chain cover and rear engine cover seal gaskets meet the pan. Torque to spec and you're done!
