Default 89 Formula getting 5.3

Got this car for a steal, Was previously LSX swapped, The motor was pulled and sold... I got it as a roller with the built 4l60E

I have almost everything to get this car back on the road, Making some changes along the way.

Heres some pics, engine bay is getting repainted along with some body panels.

Car was $400
5.3 with unknown milage, $150.. needed 1 piston replaced.
3 sets of heads with double valve springs $200
SLP cam 234/228 .576/.571 113 $150
F-body oil pan found for $20
25% UD pulley with motor mounts i needed $50

Gota use stock 02 F-body manifolds, no headers will work apart from $800 swap headers.

Going to run a stalled auto with 3:73 gears out back.

Budget racing!

I built the coil connectors from scratch from the v6 harness today, Also installed the cam.

As for the connectors, The groove the pigtail uses as a guide had to be made, Depinned the plug and installed wires according.. Had to splice some colors in, I.E one or two wires have a stripe but should be a solid color, So I just spliced in the solid color all the way to the PCM.

Heres some more pics.

Got the converter, the shortblock reassembled and the engine bay painted.

Still collecting bolts and a few odds and ends, hoping to hear it run this coming weekend.

Sorry for more cellphone pics, the weekend didn't go at all as planned, so getting home from work at 6 and working on this thing.. leaves little motivation to dig up the nice camera.

These are my heads notthing special.. but will do the trick

Also painted the motor, love this color.. Wish I had used it on my Trans am..oh well.

Finnished getting the motor bollted down, had to slot the motor mounts -_- Got the trans hooked up, Lost my drive shaft when I bought the car... ops!

Wires tucked up around the motor, still some cleanup where the PCM is to be done, most of that mess is for the transmission.

Don't think many people will like the paint, But I do!

mine are the coated mids, go to brp muscle rods website(they sell them cheaper than anyone else), they are affordable, and the fit and finish is awesome.

Thats an odd color but it somehow works with the white car and black engine bay.Nice work..the wiring is what took me the longest to do..for tucking and running them in a nice tight fashion.Should be a nice lil sleeper formy.

Well she is sputtering, I guess im having a vats issue.. cranking with no start, pulled plugs and they are dry.. Checked for compression as well, 160psi so i added some starter fluid and its sputtering, so I need to figure out why the injectors won't click away!

I can only assume my harness is working out.

is vats tuned out of your computer? also, did you wire around it on your car? quick and easy to do, its behind the driverside kick panel.

How do you wire around it? Also I am not sure if vats is Tuned out or not, this computer was previously in the car on it's old lq9 setup so I can only assumed the tuned it out or found a walk around.
