Not the norm for a ls1 Hi to all what I've done is take a 1964 vw notchback (which is kind of a rare model) and cut it up. We built a custom chassis which is a kit from chassiswork. Made a few mods to get the wheel base and width right. Then got the motor and trans mounted. Fitted the body to the frame and started narrowing the ford 9". We fit the rear end with a tracloc, 3.89 gear, currie 31 spline axles and explorer rear disc brakes. Once that was done started building the roll cage to tie the frame all together and to protect me. Now were onto building the wheel tubs and fitting the to the car. So far been a really fun project and should do great on the track when all finished being the weight of car should be around 2800lb. started to fit the tub into place. Cut a little at a time and got a real tight fit and don't have to add any fill peice's from body to tub. We will build fill panel and some boxes behind the tub for battery box and fuse panel.

they were ran through the bead roller and the hammered finished over a custom made dolly. took a little time but went together perfectly. Crack out the tig and a little sanding. I would love to say i did them all but i have a friend that did most of the work and wow do i love the look.

Hello again. I know some of you were interested in the build of my car and sorry for the delay but, the shop that I had it at that were suppose to helping me just could not get their stuff together. That and myself being busy with my day job and all the side work (to pay for this thing) time just flew by and not much got done. So I pulled it from that shop and made a new plan. I got together with my friend Jason at Rust Box and made a plan. Got the car to his shop and took some off work and got busy and this is now where it's at. There is still a ton of work (and money) to do but a least it looks like a car again. Thanks for looking any any feed back.

Motor is ls1 stock as of this time but have ls6 intake and plan on head and cam swap in future. Using a 4l60e trans(knees don't like to push pedal much anymore). Ford 9". 275 60 15 rear tire. Any other question just ask.
