Default 1970 Nova LY6 TT build

Hi , It's a slow build when $$$$ is avail. The goal is to build TT 370 with vintage air low mount to the pass side & the camaro alt bracket with truck 160 amp alt. It has tha Ride Tech air ride front Susp with unisteer rear stear & C6 manifolds. It's back half with 4 link & soon to be Ride Tech air bags & shocks setup like the front. I'm leaning toward precision 6265-6465 turbos. I'm leaning toward a Rossler T400 tranny with Gear Vendor, I know I can put a Rossler 4L8OE in it but I like the idea of the lower RPM drop between gear shift would be better for me personally.I have the 2010 center console from Dodge Challenger that I'm making the LED cup holder light up with all the power outlet to work & the console vent will work also when I install the Vintage air unit (why not cool the back so I won't be sweating around the back of my neck). Also I'm gonna hook up the IPOD hook up in the armrest to work also. I have the Stewart Warner gauges with LED light bulbs. It has the Brite light from American Autowire plus the 7 speed wiper delay . Got the parts from Ride Tech other company fender brace , headlights, wiper switch ***** & the door lock pull ****.It has the Fessler Billet blck anod. hood & trunk hinge. It rolls on American Racing Torq Thrust Rims with Mickey Thompson SR radial tires.

Your car is pretty bitchin. What motor did you have in there previously? Im working on a Nova myself. I know what you mean about the slow build process. Ive been at for going on 3 yrs now and I still don't have the car together yet. I found a LS1 outta 99 Camaro im putting in my ride. Nothing too crazy but im shooting for over 400-450 RWHP. That's about all your going to get outta an LS1 with doing some serious mods. Hopefully next year will be a productive year on the ol nova. I gotta build thread on SNS if you feel like checking it out.

Thank you for the comment & the car had the original 402 BB & if I could sell the mustang I can get a lot more done over the winter & it would be ready to cruise but the paint will have to wait. I can't drive or race anymore so this build is for my fiancé , I'm blessed to have a women that loves cars & racing. Thanks again .

Hey I just read the site , it looks really good & that color is gonna be cool. I have to do my quarters because someone cut the quarter to 36" wide . I hate having 4"" gap between tire & quarters. I'm looking @ goodmark full quarter replacement. Good luck on the build & you'll love the ride tech susp.

I wish I coulda done just a full QP instead of just the skin, less welding and less chance of warping the sheetmetal. But full QP's are like 350 bucks and the skins about about 125 so im a cheap ***. I don't plan on going back to that blue, I wanna use this dark metallic grey from house of kolor w/satin racing stripes. But im no where near thinking about paint yet.

I was going ask are you building your car for straight drag racing or pro-street. What size turbos are you going with??

I forgot to mention the grey paint w satin black stripe but that's gonna be nice color combo. It gonna be 90% cruiser & once in a while blast down the 1/4 mile when weather is cooler & the turbo ideas is somewhere 6265 - 6465 precision turbo (twins though if I didn't post that).

Default More nova update

I also have LED tail lights with sequential turn signal & LED front park lights. As for the wiring , I'm looking @ ISIS power wiring system. It's a very nice system but it will have slots of features that I'm looking for & I'm using the Honda S2000 engine start button. For the fuel cell I like the aeromotive stealth 20 gallon cell with eliminator pump ,but I really like the Vapor Works set up with twin CTS V fuel pump modules with the PWM & SCM . You don't need a regulator or a return line.

Default More info on the build

I'm using the Car Shop adaptor plates that's for the stock location but used the bottom holes to move it forward 1.25 that bolts to the block & redrilled the upper & tapped it. I moved it so I could use the Alan Grove air conditioning mounts for Sanden 508 compressor , that's why I notched the crossmember. I use the 98-02 camaro moroso alum oil pan but cut out the angle on the pan so it would clear the rack. I'm locating the coils under the headers & this is a rough mock up but what do you think about it. I was always told that heat rises so to me coils would be hotter on top of the valve cover plus header heat , since I lowered it I'm hoping that it will be alittle cooler but it will get some heat from the manifold.

Did you get Digi-Tails for your LEDs?

I'd love to install the ISIS system in the nova (I previously did in a 66 GTO I owned, though never took advantage of it other than the push-button start), but just can't justify the price given I recently rewired the car. Good luck with the build!

Yes , it's the Digi-Tail & I love it & a lot of people asked about it @ car shows & cruise. I know that the ISIS is expensive but I couldn't believe the price jump since last year but I want to control the vintage air , push button start & security since I won't have the key also the most important , it will power up my EFI (Holley Dominator) & fuel pump without having to use the switches . Thanks for the luck & you do the same.

I'm using the dodge viper single fan but 2 speed. I'm deciding between my Edelbrock Vic jr with Wilson elbow & 90 throttle body to Holley's new hi ram. The Hi ram will work now since I lowered the radiator but throttle body will be close to the TRTTC9 intercooler .

Default Hi Ram pic

Sorry that the pic of my edelbrock is wrong angle. But I'm thinking of this not because of hood clearance but the best combo.

I know but you guys (& girls) that have late models cars have it a little tougher but I'd been going between front mount or rear turbos set up.

Default Ideas

I'm kicking the idea of mounting the turbos in the rear , the car is backhalf so there is room since fuel cell is in the trunk. I know that the filter would have to have a shield so it won't get drowned when I'm cruising in the rain. What do you guys think?
