Finally had the Time to Install My Coil Over's

had to modify the Insane Chassis Works Brackets to work with the BackBrace on my 9" Rearend..

Upper Mounts are tabs on a Bar...
Bar is welded to the Frame

Heres the Final Product

I also put on my 275/60/15 Mickey Thomson Drag Radials which you can see in that picture above..

oh....and I added a K&N Air filter to on the Supercharger Inlet...

worked on the car some more over the past few days....

I've been trying to figure out a hood for this thing...
so I ordered a Harwood 3" cowl from Summit Racing...and found out that Harwood's version of 3" means 3" above the fenders, not 3" above the stock hood.....and it wont clear the intake tubing
so I returned it and got my money back (did a test fit while the Fed Ex Driver was there and when it didnt even come close, I just refused it and it gets returned and I dont have to sort out shipping)

so after some thought and some talking with a few friends of mine
my options were...order a bigger cowl hood (which I really didnt want a huge cowl hood)
or cut a hole in the stock hood and design my own scoop/cover to go over the intake tubing....

I elected to save a few dollars and cut the hole and make something.

I then started to figure out what I wanted to do to cover up the hole

and I got some sheet metal, and used my pattern to cut it out and then I started welding...

tonight I also welded on a flat edge around the entire thing...
I plan on painting it black and using rivets to secure it to the hood(with a little RTV for a weather seal)

I'm going with Rivets because eventually the car will get painted Matte Silver Metallic and some Panels and Rivets will be painted on to give it the look of an airplane...so the rivets will fit the look I'm going for.
I'm going for a P51 Mustang Airplane theme with the car.

and its on the hood....

Its not perfect...but it really doesnt have to be...because I can say that I made it and I like it and thats all that matters :p

I also added some Redline Tuning Hood Struts...so no more stupid prop rod
the hood opens a little further with them as well
these things were stupid easy to install...comes with instructions that tell you exactly where to mount them
and they arent bad priced either

I added a set of them to replace the stock ones on the Hatch as well...but no pictures of those because really....they all look alike

I added a DeWitt Radiator High Speed Fan Setup tonight
Dual Spal Fans, flows 3200 CFM, more than Double what the Factor Fbody Fans flow

and I added a Derale Performance "Transmission Cooling Pan"
the pan has tubes that go thru it to allow airflow to cool the fluid in the pan
usually people see anywhere from 20* to 50* drop in trans fluid temperatures with this pan, plus the pan holds an extra 4 quarts of fluid

got it all up and running...went for a drive.....
this thing pulls like a freight train.....

but its throwing belts faster than I can get them ordered......
and I was going procharger to keep from having to spend more money on nitrous bottles every time I wanted to race ....

and we cant visually see why this thing is throwing belts....Its not visually obvious
atleast not anything I can capture with the visual resolution of a GoPro under the hood while going down the road.

the last time it threw the belt, it wrapped itself up in my crank pulley and it pulled off my main serpentine belt and my vacuum pump belt...
and it also ripped my cog belt tensioner pulley off...so its somewhere in a ditch down the road from the shop..LOL
I've looked twice now and still havent found it...

so................................................ ...........................
I was frustrated as hell and pulled the supercharger off my car in anger...

and now Theres something else in the works involving a set of twins.....

Why twins?

I have twins on my car and if I were to do it all over again I would go with a properly sized single.

because properly sized twins will make more power than a properly sized single and they will spool faster than a single

proper AR sizing is very key to a turbo

so....I've kind of been quiet lately.....mostly just been busy as hell at work....

but I found a few extra dollars and a little bit of free time....
so I started on the Twin turbo setup...

My Boss is a Good buddy of Reed over at "WORK Turbochargers"...so I made a phone call and discussed options with him...

we settled on a pair of S300SX3-66 78/73mm with a .91 AR housing

I decided on a Frame Mount since I am using a motor plate/Mid plate setup that is extremely rigid and wont cause issues with the frame mounted turbos

I'm taking the Exhaust downpipes out thru the Inner Fender, down thru the Tubular K-Member, and out the back of the car (cant stand fender exit exhaust)

and of course I had to change my intercooler for a double inlet and a single outlet

ended up putting it in and tilting it slightly to get behind the front support rail...

made the intake piping going from the intercooler to the intake

and then I proceeded to make the Turbo to intercooler piping...

one of the issues I ran into was I just didnt have much room up front so I had to move my trans cooler....
decided to just rear mount it with a fan...still have to add the fan wiring...but thats no big deal...
I'll do that after its up and running and I can get the car up on a lift again.
