What the #$%^@$% are these? Hazards of painting your car outside I guess. These little camo-colored, lady-bug pests came out of no where. Never seen them before, haven't seen them since.

Finally, all one color again!

Since the above picture doesn't show the true color, here is a closer, better shot.

Wet sanded, Buffed, Polished, and waxed. All trim installed and mirrors on. Only needs the side markers installed at it's back to focusing on the mechanical stuff.

This picture was taken yesterday evening. Brake booster cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted VHT wrinkle black. Master cylinder painted VHT wrinkle black. Note the underside of the hood painted undercoat. I also painted the wheel wells, the bed, and the visible frame with undercoat. Headers are for a 99-02 Camaro. Ebay overflow tank mounted to the right of the Radiator. Ebay oil separator mounted to the left of the radiator.

Some weight reduction going on in the bed. I will be installing a wood bed in here eventually. Fuel cell and battery box mounted and ready to go. Still need to assemble the fuel lines, pump, and filter. I'll be utilizing the factory fuel pressure regulator.

Here is my air filter setup. Should provide enough air even after some future upgrades to the engine. You can also see the heater hoses and heater control valve in this pic.

It's been two months and the El Camino is on the road. But first, a little progress update and a couple video's.

There is room in that engine bay for another LS motor. Wow that is roomy.

So, in this picture you can see the belt-routing, hoses and all the miscellaneous pluming is complete. I also have finalized the body wiring to include the 73 car wiring for the starter. The engine turns over and I also did a compression at this point to see how the bottom end is holding up; 199-201 psi at all 8 cylinders.
