Probably should have done this modification sooner; Hood struts from a 94-95 firebird hatch. Good fitment and they allow the hood to be positioned at any point you wish.

I have these Z06 Corvette Wheels.

A question for the viewers: Leave the wheels polished or paint them black!

Polished

First Start-up. You should mute the first 10 seconds of the video.

Nice "first" car!

Where did you get the air intake/filters?

Thanks, glad you like it, and here's the link to the filter/intake setup.

Have a black chrome finish put on them(chromed), or a black chrome powder coated finish; shiny but dark!

Also if you run the air filters as far as possible to the left and right you should be able to pull in some cooler air, for more power.

Default 'nother update

Well first things first, cosmetically this is the 'final product'. Decided to go semi-gloss black for the wheels:

Quite a bit has happened with the rest of the car since my last post. Attended LSFest 2013; all was on the trip to Bowling Green, up until about 5am or so, 20 miles-ish from the raceway, hit a major dip in an intersection we had no idea was there, and left a lengthy crack and a few small holes in the oil pan (note the stock truck oil pan was only 3-4 inches above the ground all the time). Pulled over, shut it off and oil poured out of it like a water fall. Lucky for us the suction of the oil pump when the car is on kept it from leaking while we drove around to find the nearest autoparts place we could. luckily came across an autozone just a few miles from where LSfest was being held, redneck patched it up with some quick dry JB weld, and headed off.

Sitting at the end of the drag strip.

Happily our temporary solution worked well enough enjoy the event and to get us home. A few weeks later whie going to fill up on gas, hit yet another dip which did the oil pan in completely. Since then the engine and trans was removed to replace the stock pan with a Holly pan several inches shorter than the stock pan, sits high than the engine cross member so there shouldnt be anymore issues with that. Unfortunately in that process discovered the 350 trans bell housing was cracked as well, with loose bolts included. Genius job on our part. Now shes got a 700r4 and running beautifully, eliminated as many leaks as possible, things should be good from here. Time to have some real fun.

Can you confirm the outside diameter of the intake piping and filters? I can't tell if it is 3.5" or 4" OD. I am still weighing my options on making an intake.

Thanks!

Thank you, Thank you. Well hey, I'll be there next year. Hopefully competing; at the least have it in the Show and Shine.
