My problem is I change stuff ALOT lol. So for me, I will be better off with a system like the Holley where I can make the changes. For someone that can put a setup together and stick with it, a standard harness, ECM flash and tunes might work great. I just cant leave things alone, So I would go broke having to have tunes redone all the time lol.

I agree with fireman. Holley is looking better everytime i read about it. Plus you get all the extras built in like the timer, boost controler etc. i think the amount of money will equal out in the long run.

Have the motor apart. Now taking it to the machine shop for some goodies

Ordering a upr k member by the end of the week.

So got a bunch of stuff on order motor is at the machine shop. Changed my mind and with a 700R4 found one for 300. Taking it to the rebuild shop this week. Found a starter at the swap meet for 75 bucks. Also I'm not going with Holley efi anymore. Was down at the turbo shop as the rep from MSD was there and found out about there new LS atomic units. Its a really cool solution for the wiring. A little spendy but will save a lot of time. Check it out

Im still looking for a LS6 intake manifold if anyone has one. I'm also going to call MSD to see what aftermart intakes will work.

Whats the price for one of those?

To me that seems like something for a restored car built for cruising.

Its around $2300. Plus $200 for the LS1 connections. Im going to give it a try. Supports 1000HP so why not? I was going to go holley like you till i talked to the MSD rep.

Holy ****, sounds like a rip off to me.

If I was building a pro touring car and wanted something just to make it run then yea I would look at the MSD but ur about $100 off of what I paid for my ENTIRE dominator setup.

IMO the MSD doesnt even compare to the Holley considering all the features and capabilities the Holley has. Im not trying to knock the MSD but for the same $ u can get ALOT more.

So ordered another round of parts. Went with the dominator over the msd. Going to get a mock up motor from the machine shop so when mine is done it will be easy to drop in. Trans is at the rebuild shop. Now the fun starts

If you don't mind me asking, what did you end up paying for the Dominator setup?

Yeah the dominator setup is pretty spendy. I spent around the same maybe a bit more. Plus a fuel pump and boost control stuff. I also got the new holley mid rise intake manifold and 90mm throttle body. Off to the swap meet today. Crossing my fingers that i find some good stuff unlike last weekend.

I dont have an answer for you, But i just mocked up my upr kmember and solid motor mounts to my motor and the ls adapter plate holes need to be elongated to line up and the solid motor mounts are not at the same angle as the mounting plate of the kmember, but i think it will be ok wen its all done. But I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the quality so far, I had heard such good things about UPR thats why i went with them, but its been a headache so far.

Damn "that red"!? Seems like you and I are in the same boat. I'm going to be hooking up the transmission today to see if that will change anything as well as loosen up EVERYTHING. Hope it will shift the motor in a better position. Glad I have a mock up block that's for sure.

Talking about transmissions, I looked at the converter and the flex plate, found that they don't line up. Did some research and people are saying to just longate the holes!! Forget that! So I went out and bought a flexplate and a spacer.

I don't know if I need both. To space it out and do nothing to the starter position dosent make sense.

Maybe someone can shine some light on how to adapt an 700R4 to a 4.8????? I just don't want to burn up my new trans please help

Now oi know that this is a "project" which includes some fab work but come on! Even the AJE trans cross member needs a couple holes drilled!

I used the stock cross member and dog legged the holes and ground the spot welds so it would slide back.

The round bump on the bottom of the motor mount should be ground down flat. That's what is keeping the motor mount from sitting flush against the K-member.

Went a different route and got a 700R4. (Wanted overdrive) I had it rebuilt and is now in the car. I don't know if it the same for the th350 or 400 but if you have a upr k-member and a AJE trans member it DOES NOT fit. You need an 1/2 inch. I tried everything to move the k-member and even the motor that 1/2 inch but couldn't get it. Out came the cutter and the welder. Will post pictures when I get it done. I also had the massage the tunnel on the passenger side also put 45 degree fittings for extra space for the cooler lines.

Note: motor angle should be 3.5 - 4.0 degree max
