Well I payed 10k for my 69 camaro this past year, maybe i paid too much maybe i didnt you tell me? It is a base car with front disc brakes and the 10 bolt rear non posi. Full 1/4s, roof and floor pans replaced already. Fenders have a little rust. Its painted single stage white. Interior is pretty nice for a daily driver. It's no show car but a damn nice daily driver. I know the guy who built it and it had a big block setup in it. He wanted 12k for the car with a 402/th350 drivetrain 10k without. Well I didn't want the drivetrain as I was going LS in any car I have now. So I jumped on the deal as I don't see too many 69 camaros going for this price ready to go minus the drivetrain. If i want to sell it, id get all or most of my money back id figure. Granted I knew the guy so maybe I got lucky.
Now a base camaro with no options will go a lot cheaper than one that has a certain rpo code. Finding base camaros aren't easy and even those are going up in price. You would need to search and be patient to find the right deal. Also some guys that sell their cars might want to keep their drivetrain for another project they have, it doesn't hurt to ask them. Buy one restored already if your ready to drive it now rather than later.

^^ I think you got a good deal.
That car in Chicago would be for sale for $15k+. Honestly I don't know what they SELL for around here bc people are always asking ridiculous amounts. I've seen 1st gens range from 6k-12k for basically a builder, 15-20k if it drives, 20-25k if it's clean, and 25k+ if it's had any work done.
I would never pay those prices though. I'm with the '65 Skylark guy.
It's the same problem with trifive Chevys

In comparison to other 1st gens? I would as well say that was a decent deal, but too expensive for my blood considering what $10K would get you in a sec or 4rd gen.
After he fixes the rust, block, primer, paint....That $10K car turned into a $20K car.

Abdullah, do you want a rolling body/no engine, so that you can adapt an LS1?Or, are you looking for a ready to go 69 with 327, 350, or 396?
Also, are you looking for an upscale model...like an RS, or SS, or the like?
I bought a 67 with quite a bit of rust. In retrospect, it was a big mistake, and cost alot of money to make the body rust-free & correct.
Consider how much you'd like to spend, then go from there.

i might install in the 69 camaro either a 427ci LS engine or a 540ci or 582ci aluminum BBC. first i want to make the 69 handles well when i get it.
