Ls2 engine control question
I am geting the engine, harness, ecu, injectors, sensors, Dbw tb out of the 06 Gto. The gas pedal is not available. I have been reading to see what the best way to do this is.
Do I go with dbc throttle body or stay with dbw?
From the research I have done the 06 Gto had 24x reluctor wheels and no TAC module.
1. Can I just buy a dbw pedal and get the ecu reflashed to get rid of VATS and make it all work?
2. If yes what part number pedal do I need and who do I send the ecu to?
If I want to convert to dbc then I need to buy a throttle body and modify my harness for the tps and iacvand get the ecu reflashed.
1. Will the ecu out of the 06 Gto have the drivers to control the iac?
Any and all help will be appreciated.
Thank you
Alex

If I run the gto pedal that I got with the swap, I can use the ECU from the gto aswell and harness? I just need to have them paired(BMW Harness), and the GTO ECU flashed? Thanks Sorry OP, but this should help both of us

Option 1
06 gto Ls2 ECM and harness (I have this available to me for free)
Reprogram ECM ( remove vats and emissions) $150
Pedal $100 (did not come with the engine)
Harness rework about $400
Maf sensor $100 ( did not come with the engine)
Total$750
Am I missing something?
Option 2
01 camaro Ls1 harness and ECM ( i have this available to me for free)
ECM reprogramming $150
Harness rework about $400
I have an ls1 maf
Dbc throttle body $400 (from psi)
Total $950
What is involved with the knock sensor and cam sensor modification. Is it just the harness extensions or do need the sensors also?
How about this?

The pedal I also quoted from the PSI website. It is $184 at Rock auto. If you know a chaper source please share.
As far as the harness rework I averaged between a few people's.
Current Performance:
Stage 2 Engine Harness Modification
Adds A/C and Electric Fan wiring as well as all needed relays and fuses.
(Can be wired for computer control or manual switch for fans)
$450-$550
BP Automotive
Premium service starts at $320 without A/C and $350 With A/C for Drive by cable and Drive by wire
As far as doing the harness myself, I am in the US ARMY and I will probably deployed again later this year and I have to manage the project in a way that I finish it before I leave. In my last conversion, 625hp 2jz into an 1998 BMW m3, the wiring research and actually doing it took me about 2weeks. I just don't have the time to do it in this project. Even with the rewire service I will have to integrate the harness into the e30 and that will take a few days. Just time management.
Thanks for all the help guys. Still up in the air with what option to go with. Please if you have sources for desent quality cheaper parts or labor give me input.

"If it's a 2005+ LS2 with the E40 ECM, I do not program that particular ECM.
Only doing the Gen 3 engines, and the Gen 4's with the E38 ECM."
So my programming options if I want to use the Gto PCM are:
Bp automotive ? (Nothing on website), Current performance $175 (quoted on the phone), Psi $150(website) and Speartech $300(website)
Any other ideas???
I am just looking for VATS and emissions removal.

The other reason I used this PCM vs. red blue 411, as this PCM can be used to retain cruise function as well but you must switch to the LS1 style knock sensors, was that I wanted to retain the GTO stock knock sensors..
For the GTO, IIRC the cruise is controlled through the body module or BCM if you use the E40 ECM.
Just something to consider if you want to hook up your cruise control.
