70 chevelle TH400 dipstick I want to know if anyone has had any success with a particular dipstick when using a TH400 in their ls build on a A-body 67-72 should be the same i would think. I have heard some horror stories when using the flexible lokar flexible ones when filling among other issues. Has anyone had any success with them? Also I hear any repo ones will not fit and instructions call for you to BEND IT to make it fit! Let me know what you have found to work.

I am about to find out. I am going to try the factory dipstick when I install a 6L80 in my 1965 Buick Skylark. When searching for the part number it appears that the 4L80 and 6L80 use the same transmission dipstick.
no horror stories with my lockable lokar dip stick. TH400.
before the 400 I had an 80e in the car. Stock dip stick tube worked, but HAS to be installed before the trans is in the car. Atleast on my setup.

I have used the flexible lokar cable as well and had no problems.

Actually like the black one more. I hate too much chrome. Thanks a bunch guys. If anyone has any other ones that work please post as this is a issue with a ls swap in a bodies . T have found a couple different forum while searching on google with the same issue. I saw one option was to cut the bent section out and replace it with 3/4 inch heater hose.
Do you know if the 4L80E and TH400 dipsticks are the same?
