I was thinking of doing the same with mine.
It's actually just fit between the engine and the bar right now. I might make something to mount it to the fuel rails like the factory GM cover does. But I might not really need anything.

Just little things now.

AC vacuumed down, charged up, and blowing cold.

Is it just me, or does your passenger door not line up?

Just putting miles on it...around 100 miles post swap on it. Getting more comfortable with pushing it harder. It is soooooo smooth.
Put my sons car seat in it and will use it as a DD before it ships out just to make sure everything is rock solid.

Just some random pictures.

Agreed. This is a beautiful piece of kinetic art.
Those fenders are just so perfect. You can't tell anything is done to them, but they are wide and perfectly fitted to the wheels.
One think I love about BMW are they wheel and arc relationships...I though BMW had them perfectly matched, but you improved on them

Did you cut/stretch the inner fender to create more room for the wheel/tire at full bump travel?

Went to vintage fest in Chicago this past weekend..bummer that is rained just about the entire day on Sunday (day of the show) but still had a good time. Pretty awesome even with the rain you pop the hood and a crowd of 15 people gather around to look. The M60 cover tricked a lot of people off the bat.

Driving down on Saturday it was absolutely beautiful...74 degrees, sunny, couldn't ask for a nicer day. Listened to music with the windows rolled down.

I had planned to take more pictures but the rain sorta put a damper on it. This was the only one I took.

Then the entire way home it rained....well 90% of the way home. I hate driving in heavy rain.

The e36 performed flawlessly. Got 25mpg on the first tank and that was with some hard driving when I stopped to visit a buddy. Got 22mpg in town in Chicago giving multiple people rides. The tank on the way back I haven't filled up but I am estimating 26-27mpg or so.

Thanks so much for the detailed thread, gave me many great ideas for my own swap. In fact, I'm doing almost a copy-exact on the exhaust and looking forward to fabbing it up!

Keep up the good work, great attention to detail, you should feel proud about what you created.

jake,
hey i emailed you asking about the shifter relocation mount and the tr6060 trans mount can you make one of each for me and how much? how fast can you do it?

can you tell me where you got your bleeder line and where you got the line n connector to hook into e36 clutch master.

also can you tell me how you feel about the driveshaft you had made? my e36m3 ls3/tr6060 will be a complete race car so do you feel how you did it will hold up to abuse or do you advise doing a solid driveshaft. etc all info is helpful thanks
