Project within the project
So I'm seriously considering mounting the intake manifold facing forward on this project, then the wheels started turning, how about some cold air scoops coming in thru the aft part of the rear windows. now the question is can the rear window be cut, 2 1/2 hole while on the car? here's a few pictures of how I'm thinking.

Or, You could put a NACA duct or something front of the rear tires and just go straight out the sides. You'd keep your back seat and it would be a bit more stealth.

I think it will hinge on IF the window CAN be cut while installed, the backseat won't be affected as the tubing will run aft of it, if I even bother to reinstall the back seat, since it really is worthless anyway unless your haulin little people. I can't figure out HOW they run the fender side scoops tubes , I've got the whole car taken apart there and I see no easy way to run the tubes.

the engine intake noise will be terrible inside the car if you do so , i say don't do it .
what you can do is run an EFI carb style intake with a low profile elbow. this will actually move the throttle body slightly back towards the center of the engine ( assuming you are running the throttlebody towards the rear of the car ). the neat thing about it is that you can have the throttle body suck air right from where the decklid louvers are . you might actually be able to use the stock porsche intake tube and filter .

Think I'm gonna try it and if the noise is too much I'll just use the vents to help cool engine bay. I did get some input from Renegade and they say I'll need at least 3" on each side to keep up with air demand. Also talked to the glass people and they say tempered glass can not be cut, so I'll probably replace windows with Polycarbonate like these https://www.gt-racing.com/products-p...windows-pr-18/ and use another scoop/vent that I can mount further aft.

why not do the carb style manifold , use the low profile elbow to seat your throttle body closer to the center of the engine. gives you more routing options :
here is side shot of how much the elbow will move the throttle back : ( that is not the lowest style elbow there is )
you can also use ( if i recall correctly ) the GM carb style EFI manifold which has the top flange ( where the carb would sit ) placed very low compared to other intakes.
both those things coupled with the fact that you already cut the rear area should pretty much open up alot of options for you induction wise.

I'm a little reluctant to try anything other then a stock type that comes with the motor since my experience with tuning these type motors is very limited. I just want to get it up and running good before I start serious HP or off stock Mods. Also that setup looks to be too tall, thats what started my first train of thought, wondering if I could get a supercharged LS3 to fit? Which brings me to my next quest, I need a Good tuning LS understanding book. Any ideas?
Thanks Again

It should just be a template and some ducting. Go check out how people route the intercoolers & air intakes on the turbo. There has to be something on the scoops. You literally have the exact same rear clip as the turbo.

I've got this car striped down to bare bones and there is no clear path from the front of the rear fenders to the engine compartment to run a duct unless you cut some holes and the places I'd have to cut don't seem right. I need to see some pictures of a turbo duct run.
