Tore it back down to a bare shell to refurbish some things and undo some messups by a previous person who worked on it.

Patched the undercoating(freeway semi truck tires ate a good 40% of it)
Re-painted the engine bay flat black
Dissembled the whole front and rear suspension to replace with polys and new pillows. Unfortunatly noticed the front strut bushings have collapsed so new struts will have to be bought :icon_tdow
Did some ninja weight reduction, Put my carbon fiber doors and hatch with lexan in the hatch on it. Also put a racing brake rear brake kit on.

Orange mmmmmm
Prepped the suspension components for their new bushings!

Forgot to photo with the new dust boot covers.
Almost ready for frontal reassembly

Yum, ignore the coilovers they are placeholders for now.

Transported her to Gainesville for final fab, wiring, and assembly!

Decided to go with my new racing brake front bbk instead since they werent selling. Also put on my aragosta coilovers i've had in a corner. Also note SCREW thoose carbon brake ducts that were sold in a small group buy.. they were a few degrees off of flat, towards the rotor could not cut them to work either.. So we 5lb hammered them in hate.

10an fuel filter

2x 6an to 10an, dual 255s intank cj kit

New 3rd brake light,, going to plastidip the silicon board to hid it and make a lil shroud

Since i have a tech2 hood enroute got this new fillcap

some toys

got this last chunk in before we had to call it quits for the day, cant mount it anywhere else and have good placement of lines. My camera angle is terrible

Plasti dipped the 3rd brakelight so its all ninja now.
Before, and after..

Room for cooler lines

Oil t-stat

Got my tech2 hood in.... PLENTY of room for the fast 102, but thats not the goal. Eventually going to put a supercharger on it. it appears to give 3 to 4" over stock hood. Whipple 2.9l is ~10.5 in tall, fast 102 is ~7.5....
Footnote: have since decided not to go whipple

Dropped her back on the ground with her new aragostas, all solid bushings, and thoose new j-auto lca/trailing rod combo.. jesus we need to spin thoose coils down vs the rx7 they were on. A solid ~700lbs of weight reduction gave use a bit of raise LOL. The first alignment she recieve is going to be hell for the tech,, there are like 4 places for each type of adjustment lol.

Weeeeeee it fits now.

shiny

mmmmmmm

Finally got around to running the lines to the fpr

Finished the oilcooler lines.

Added some bling bling

Going to get real serious this weekend.

100ft spools of mostly 18, going to be most of the full new lightened body harness.
more marginal progress!
Reusing a fabbed oil breather

Replaced the heavy fuel pump access with light cheap AL!

Building the cabin relay box/switch panel right now.... hopefully borrowing a friend's welder tonight so we can mig the firewall instead of tig. We want to have first drive in a week... aim high! Also threw away the spaghetti monster above design was good on paper but too many relays in application.

Soon!

Cobbled on but nearing completion... going to grind welds flush so no cares

Shout out to our best friend, Rockstar! If only we could be sponsored.

A friend of mine who has no fear of using a heat gun in florida heat for hours on end decided to strip the oem deadening.

Fuel + electrical, then vroom vroom.

Shes alive.

Got her Aligned @ 10:30 made it barely to the show by 12. Won best mazda.
always a crowd

Someone's cheery after the all nighter

Winning.

She photographs good.

Got the racepak online.

Set the hood on again,, going to mount it soon.

rhino nose installed... just needs the whipple

The woodscrew was a bit too ghetto for the ebrake lock(spring has been gone for some time) so walmart!

always needed.

banzai diff brace meet hinson ppf.

Always make the exam procrastinating female paint.

all together
Starspec 265s were no where near good enough to handle our cam/heads ls3.. so we had some 285 rs3s laying around and slapped them on the rear. Since they were new had to do a safety burnout to clean off the tires. Yeah bad idea...
Burned 1st, went for 2nd let the clutch out then bang akine to the sound of a 45 going off. now the carnage.

Rear cover is cracked, giant holes on both sides... can visaully inspect the whole innards. hinson ppf with a banzai diff brace modded onto it. Ls3 with around 460 whp + gobs of torque. byebye diff
Soo time for minor cosmetic things! Put these on,.

Here's a video of the diff destroying burnout... It doesn't seem like much but if you listen carefully you can hear a pop at 0:08.
Plasti-diped all the carbon. Was doing this to protect it from the sun and be reversible, turned out better than expected!

The inside of the bumper's wrap was coming up a little so plasti-diped that as well, I also put my feed turn/fog combo on it

Hoping to have a diff in soon to be on the road again!
Shameless plug for my buddy Micheal

Looooom

Gotta make a backing/shield for that edventually.

Looks alot better than multicolor spaghetti!
Wired in the front bumper with a trailer QD

Can't sleep... want lower rear end gear, what better to do than to model Mph vs rpm! lol
For the record I have a gto t56.

some more weight reduction :egrin:

hopefully wont have to pull this off again

added some 12v ports

Oh my what are these big boxes?

is that a cobra diff?

is this axle bars from dss?

Ingenious door handle idea from my friend Ben(estupido owner), cut up walmart belt bolted to the window motor bracket lol!
Also put on the SFI padding on the cage

finished looming the rear harness

HAD to paint the 8.8 orange

Soo we finally took the broken diff out so its ready for its new baby... holy!

We undid the bracing and it just fell out in pieces.
Soon to be back on the road again!
