Build whatever is In your budget. If a 5.3/4.8 is all what you can afford. Do that. If you just got to have a 6.0. Then spend that money.

Looking forward to seeing more updates on this.
Seriously debating swapping my cammed 6.0 and built 4l60 into a New Edge. Trying to figure out what it'll run me with me having a complete car for a donor.

Updates are coming. Wednesday I should be getting all my parts in for my Trans and stuff. Should be throwing parts together this weekend.
K member and mounts are under 600$ shipped. So whatever you can pick up a mustang for and sell the motor/Trans that was in it for to make some money back. It's seriously an easy swap. I just got done swapping one of my customers 02 gt with a 6.2/auto. Just pulled that out and threw a t56 behind his 6.2 and threw everything in a 04 cobra roller that he bought. It took a good weekend to do it but that shows you how easy it is. To pull everything out. Swap k members and everything

Thank you for taking the time to do this thread, I know it can be a hassle to mess with a camera when you're trying to get stuff done.
Anyway, I'm interested in the same swap you did. I already have a TH400 with FMVB, T-brake, and a 3500 converter I will be using.
Here's a simple question for you, Can I use my STOCK 4.6 K member and mounts with adapter plates? Oil pan clearance issues?

Stock k member is possible. There's a guy that did one with stock k member and plates. Just room routing **** is the problem. For 280$ why wouldn't you buy a tubular k member? Loose 50lbs+ on the front with just swapping the k member.

I agree. I was just wondering if it could be done. I get parts very slowly so being able to install the engine would allow me to move forward with the rest of the car. Thanks

I parted out the 4.6 and that's what got most of the money to buy parts. Also selling a 4wheeler I got helped a lot too

well just a small update.
last friday i finally got all my stuff back from getting powder coated. i got a friend that hooked me up with a new front main seal and popped that in quick, i was able to get everything bolted up and ready to drop into the car. my neighbor came over and asked when its going it in, i told him "whenever, i could probably put it in right now" so basically in 35mins i had the trans bolted to the motor and bot engine and trans went in.

next day i got my center console all buttoned up and in. ill probably end up making a leather shift boot to cover the hole. or another plate that sits onto and covers everything.

here you can see all the stuff back on, finally gonna have ac!!

and thats basically it for now, have to finish the harness just a couple small things left to do the it can go into the car!

then get some hardware for the converter, measure for driveshaft. buy some fitting for the trans cooler. mount and run all the lines for the cooler, wire up the thermostat for the trans fan, wire up the transbrake. here soon

I'm on a 5000 budget. Already have the motor and trans. And anybody else that can help will be greatly appreciated thanks. Just pm me and I'll get back with you.

lets just keep it simple and sweet.
the awesome loomed harness i did for the car is junk.
HOURS of time on that and thats all i want to say about it.

the other day my buddy came over and threw a start up tune, 3bar sd tune.
still need more tuning to be done. i had to borrow a buddies truck harness to see if it was intact the harness (witch it was) so his harness is all draped over the engine bay for testing and everything. the video is just a quick idle vid of it. no muffs on the exhaust it has on it and I've gotta tell yeah. sounds dam good.

all stock 5.3/862 heads
custom grind cam (228/232 .570/.574 114)
jakes th400
freakshow converter
kinda drove it around the block need to adjust the shift linkage

here it is
