Thanks merv. I've got all the links to your swap/wiring saved! I was going to swap in the 98+ brakes but by the time I buy the calipers/spindles then new rotors to match the rear its just not on the top of my list (although if I find a deal local I plan on buying them anyway).

Ill try to take a pic of the steering. You can kinda see it in the third pic on my last post the wheel is making a right turn but and the driver side is straight. Ill get some more pics of the steering shaft/tie rods and post them up!

Thanks

Ok so here is the steering shaft position. The bolt is straight up and the wheel is straight, and the driver wheel is straight.

I never remove the lower part of te steering shaft from the rack. I just put in on the column the way the rack was after I found the center of the rack.

Well....aparently I forgot to take a decent pic of that lol.
In this one you can kind of tell. It's making a right corner.

I took all the adjustment out of the passenger side to bring the wheel straight but there isn't enough adjustment to make it right. Sorry, ill get a better pic tomorrow after work.

This is the driver side adjusted all the way. No more adjustment left and still making a right turn.

Passenger side (plenty of adjustment)

Guess I need an ls1 steering column also?

Nope. That looks odd tho.

My suggestion..remove the boot and make sure the Tie Rod it all the way screwed in..check both sides. That and when you have the boot off you can check and see how much of the rack is coming out of each side.

Do that and post pics of each side..and I can help from there.

That's not going to hurt anything.. looks even. I wonder if that right side Tie Rod is the wrong one.

Actually I think I have the rack one turn to far to the right. The cylinder is sticking out on the right and inside the right in the left side. Guess ill straighten it out and see if that helps. But then you'd think the driver tire would be way off :/

I got this from a car that was rear ended sitting still then parted out. Doubt the parts were wrong but who knows.

Ok so I'm ready to burn this steering rack to the ground right now. It's centered up like it should be and the passenger tire is way off. It's like the rack needs to slide over to the driver side more.

Merv so you have to re clock the splind part of the steering shaft?

I didn't have any problems..I would take both Tie Rods off, lay them side by side.

Well still havnt figured out what's up with the steering. But after looking for a cam I think I've decided on a tick performance grind.

Talked to Martin today and while I was wanting to try the polluter v2, I've decided the sns torque Max stage 3 will better suit my needs. Going to order up the cam kit with new oil pump and timing set to match my 799 heads and ls6 intake.

Hope to figure out my brakes this weekend!

Hey kylemm1002

Did you ever figure out your steering issue? I did an LQ4 swap and have a similar issue where I am out of adjustment on the tie rods, but my wheel is clocked at 1?
