Default autometer. gauges

I ordered a oil pressure and water temp gauge, bot electric. Well go figure neither come with fittings that fit the ls1. For some ungodly reason autometer is closed on Saturday so no help from them. What do I need to do? Any local solutions ie home depot or parts store fixes? Thanks

Some people tap the passenger cylinder head to get the water temp gage to fit. If that is out of the question, you can mount the temp gage in the water pump by drilling and tapping 1/4-NPT.

Where are you putting the oil pressure, up top or down low by the filter?

the port on the back of the engine is metric. You will have to adapt it or drill and tap it sir.

Depends on how much firewall clearance you have. The Autometer oil pressure sender is huge, so you will most likley need a couple of fittings, one to adapt to the correct threads, and some others to angle it away from the intake. Probably easier to use the big sender in the oil bypass block, but then you have to make sure it clears the exhaust. Nothing's ever easy!

also i used the adaptor from auto meter and the big can sender for my gauge . fits fine on my 5.3 with truck intake and also in my c-10 with motor back 1.25 " closer to firewall from stock .

as for temp i drilled / tapped h20 pump .

Is there any place better than the other for tapping the water pump?

I put a water temp sensor in the heater hose like in the mock-up picture below. All parts but the sensor came from Menards. You can also see a nice flat spot on the water pump to tap as well.
