I got my new Speedhut gauges yesterday and I have to say, they came out perfect. I was nervous buying from them since I don't know anyone near me who has their product, but I gotta tell you, they are awesome to deal with and customer service was flawless.
These are going in a Covans dash in my Chevelle. The tach has a built in shift light and I went with the GPS speedo with turn signals and hi beam indicators Those silver discs in the gauge faces are a new thing withSpeedhut. What do you fellas think?

I think it'll look good. The silver in the middle is cool and should fit nicely in your ride. Anything 68 and later and the plain seems more appropriate, though that is of course just an opinion. Waiting to see pics of the install.

Speedhut is making some of the best stuff out there. They have been around for a number of years. Can't say I have ever seen a negative post about them.
I have a shift light they make. Need to hook it up still.

They make some real nice gauges. They have various bezel and face styles as well. Basically custom built to your specs. I have their electronic speedo, it works with any electronic trans signal, and is easily calibrated. I also have the shift light tach, has 5 led's, yellow to red in sequence as you approach shift rpm. Very good pricing too.

I just ordered from them yesterday and had several questions. They were great and steered me in the right direction. So today I get a call from Speedhut! They started on my gauges told me every one is custom, they had a question to clarify about the order. So far pretty impressed w/ them and love the choices!!

The CAN bus gauges look neat but I'm not sure what you'd do if at some point you decided to go with a Holley efi or other similar type of setup. Just something to consider when buying. I have non-can as well and they were pretty easy to hook up, though running stuff through the firewall is always a bit of a drag.

I think you are right, but the holley hp efi doesn't use can (if it does I missed it when installing my harness), it connects to your laptop via usb. If you are using a stock reworked harness and ecm then CAN would be fine I bet. Then you could also use a USB reader and the torque android app which looks pretty cool.

I like my speedhut gauges but I still haven't figured out my tach; either no signal from my E38 ECM or something (and I wired in the resistor). I'll get to it this spring when it warms up a bit in the garage. Otherwise I like.

In fact this is the year the garage gets a portable A/C for the shop. Sorry to rub it in. FWIW you do not want my August electric bill though.
I am respraying the steel portion of the lower dash which might hold things up a bit as far as installed pics goes. There are thirty years worth of holes and dents at the bottom of it. The Covans dash is flimsy and really cheap, but I have been assured the finished product looks great.

I opened the Covans/thunder road/ classic dash bag last night to mock up my new gauges. The damn thing shipped to me with a big ole crack in it. It looks like a mold failure but who knows, the box doesn't look crushed or anything. Another time delay, imagine that. This car seems like it will never get done.
I put the dials in just to get a peak at what it'll look like. I'm happy with that.
Cracked.

I think everyone would like someone to start making these out of aluminum, you can't simulate the look with plastic. The guages really help it stand out. I know I've been flipping between chrome and anodized....this handmade it easier to choose.
