My buddy is looking to replace his worn out 351M and SM465 and go LS. He has a line on an nv435 and asked me about bolting it to a 5.3. I know with the t56s to go from 92-97 LT small block style to LS you need to change bell housings and input shafts, but is this the case with the nv435? He says he was planning on making his own pilot bushing but the length difference on the t56 shafts is the issue not diameter. Anyone have any advice? Here's one of his build threads, the truck is a budget beater toy.

Just tell him to run a NV4500 it was used with the 6.0L in the 2500 HD and will bolt right up. It will have 5 speeds OD as well. Not sure if the bellhouse is the same as the NV435, but is he 2x4 or 4x4?
If he can't find one of those just run a NV3500 not as strong but those are cheap and were used behind the 4.8L.
