Hey guys,

has anybody seen this or does anybody know if its possible to use a 5.3 Truck LS with the 4L60E and keep you stock 69 chevelle console with the horshoe shifter? I saw a guy that did it on youtube with a 4l60e but not sure how...his name is 'mmeccam '. im sure there are kits somewhere but im more interested to see how he made his trans fit in the tunnel and still put the console over it.


any info on this???

You will have to cut and paste your trany tunnel , not much though , 4l80 is much bigger , alot more cutting than the 60 . you might get away with no cutting , if you are lucky , ive got a 200 4r in mine , no cutting necessary

 

Scroll about 2/3 the way down on this this site http://www.shiftworks.com/chevelle-68-72.htm They list a kit #SC2242 for your application. I used them when I had an auto in my camaro, great kit and everything needed was there.

I have the horse shoe shifter and console in my 71 chevelle without having to modify anything. Like the others have said shiftworks is the guys to go to they have a shift gate conversion that turns the shifter into a 4 speed shifter and comes with a new selector plate that looks like factory just with O.D. on it.
