can someone tell me what this crossover tube is for.

it hits the fast intake, do i need something different

It lets the steam from the heads out. If u plug it off you're motor will overheating. On efi applications it runs thru the throttle body or you can run it to your top rad hose.

ok so what can i do about it hitting the intake. do i need one from a car?

Your welcome, glad i could help. As far as it hitting the intake i can't be much help. One from a ls1 might be different there are aftermarket steamport blocks that use AN fittings.

so i started the teardown a little bit tonight. still have to do some more sanding before i decide to pull the motor but hope to get it out this weekend

here a pic of where i am at as of now

You can just beat that tube down with a rubber mallet to get the intake to sit down properly. You can also get one from an 03' Z06 it's a little lower and the nipples comes out the front.

Nice Blazer wish I could find one that clean

lol sorry about that

so my longtubes came in the mail today. are they suppose to be cut where they bolt to the head? i have never had longtubes so i dont know

They are cut like that because they have 1 or more tubes that come apart somewhere in the headers

Hey man do me a big favor when u get the engine in snap a few pics from underneath of the oilpan to crossmember from front an the side I got a 92 extcabs s10 that is going to get a high compression 5.3 heart transplant lol, an btw that is a clean 2Dr blazer

Its still amazes me how far powder coating has came in the last 10 yrs. Back when it started getting popular to get your stuff powder coated u had few options on how wild u could go
