Thanks guys!
As an experiment, I did try to move the neck, with a 3/8" drive deep well socket inserted into the neck. It moved the engine but not the neck!
I am thinking of getting a radiator with both necks on the passenger side now, as it looks to be a few things in one hit
An upgrade to the cooling capabilities being all aluminum etc.
Does away with the possibility of breaking off the overflow neck on the Rover radiator, which is a plastic nipple
Cures all the darn intake issues....

Anyone have experience with these radiators?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/af...p/media/images

I have maximum width of 23.5", and a height of @24". Width can be up to 3.5". I can make brackets off my existing support at that, and am running a Derale stacked plate cooler for the tranny, so that is not needed.
EDIT:
Just found out the later Rovers (99-02) have both necks on the passenger side, and a very good friend of mine parts them out, soooooo..... May have one on the way for the price of shipping from Ca!
Couldn't see the woods for the tree's earlier I guess, so many thanks for the eye opener! After making adapters, sorting out some nightmare wiring of integrating the Rover electronics into the LSx motor, this is embarrassing to say the least. I promise to do better in the future

Hey.. live and learn.. Learning being the key word.. ! Old dogs still learn.. just a lot slower LOL..

Let us know how things turn out. and btw, that summit one was the type I said to try in my previous post. it is a Duel pass one. .but the pull out might be cheaper and easier to mount.

Just noticed, England !..wow.. I guess either one is going to cost some shipping. You can't find one locally ?

Good Luck

I live in Missouri now, so shipping should be OK...
I ended up with the one you suggested, from Jegs. My buddy let a guy he knows try the 2 he had on hand, and when he asked him to ship one to me, he said "I dont have any money". So I just went ahead and ordered the one I linked to.
To give you guys a laugh though, and to try to make up for the brainfart, here is what I made (courtesy of Lowes) to give the Rover ECM and gauge coolant readings...
Air intake elbow?-temp-senders.jpg
Dont laugh too hard, was cheap and should work perfectly without interrupting coolant flow from the heater core. Only used to make the dash temp gauge show something, and to tell the Rover ECM that is it up to temp to make controlling the tranny easier (I hope)

If a mod would like to merge my 2 threads, it would make sense to me. I made a new one to try to pinpoint a specific solution to my apparent brainfart.

Will a pass radiator inlet clear your alternator?

I would have to search for how to move the waterpump outlet, but it can be done. They can be removed, tapped, capped, etc.

I will have some "wiggle room" on the new radiator, so it should be fine....famous last words huh?

It was a snug fit in the engine bay for sure.

Can you trim some of the plastic off the shroud and just push the radiator hose toward the front a bit?

Couldn't get much more than an inch, if that, from trimming the shroud more (I already trimmed it some).
New radiator is on it's way, so that "should" cure that.
Next problem please....

A chevy truck top nose 1999-2005 might route the radiator hose perfect for you.

I looked a that too, but when I laid an old hose in front of the fan shroud (where that one sits when installed), it his the underside of the hood's insulation.
The radiator inlet neck is also about the same height as the center of the throttle body too, so would still give me issues when the intake tube got to that point.
Jegs have a back order on the radiator I ordered last night, so that has been cancelled.
A Cobra Head intake place also just emailed me, saying theirs is under 3.5" tall from the throttle body...So will head back outside for another looksie before a radiator gets ordered, again!

Try looking into a stock GTO air cleaner setup. The 04 has a IAT setup and uses the LS1 MAF. If you go with the 05+ they are really setup for the 85mm MAF. You can pick up a whole setup for about $50 on the GTO forums. Either way they go the direction you want it to and turn tight. Ask me how I know. If you need some pics shoot me a PM.

Here are some "cobra head" elbows that could work in a tight situation.

Can you get rid of your fan and fan shroud and go electric? , you can run your hose a lot closer to the radiator giving you more room for the elbow

I had a similar problem....
Tightest bend 4" elbow I could find was Spectre Performance part number97811. Its a black rubber 90* that has a really short leg on one side. By the looks of the pic it might just squeeze in there

How about running a lsa water pump with the water outlet on the passengers side of the pulley? I cant tell what kind of acc. drive you are running, but you would probably need some water pump spacers. Below is a pic of a lsa water pump on my engine. I removed the metal sleeve that the hose slides on to,because I welded on a AN nipple in its place, but you get the idea. This way you eliminate the need to cross over the water pump pulley with the radiator hose. And it doesnt look as ugly with a long spliced hose. Send me a pm if you need a pump.I have an extra
