I'm sure someone else has already done this. I am thinking about getting a wrecked gto or camaro and wanting to swap as much of the interior as possible including gauge cluster and entire dash if possible?

Plenty of people here use the factory clusters and it requires the BCM. Dash would depend on the car, but its been done.

I am using a 10" android tablet for all my gauges on my 86 camaro dash. Shows mph using gps, rpm, kpa, coolant temp, etc etc etc. Much cheaper and cooler than a zillion gauges everywhere. I run megasquirt btw.

I've thought about incorporating the digital info center from an Escalade into my interior, but want to get the swap running first. If I can work that in later, COOL. If I'd need to incorporate the BCM & a whole butt-load of sensors, then F*** THAT...

But it IS something that I've thought about...

Depends on what year of cluster you're wanting to use, but the problem is usualy getting the info you DON'T want displayed to go away such as ' low washer fluid' and the like. Newer ones can have tire pressure moniter systems that can be a PITA also. Then, you have to deal with fuel level senders that often don't use the same ohm range as what you currently have. It can be done, but isn't as easy to make it all work as one would think.

I am in Australia, but am using the dash out of the car I got the engine/trans. I am thinking its the same as your GTO. Mine has the 3 window info, which give instant mileage,
distance to empty, speed alert, average speed, average economy etc, etc.
Had to use the BCM to get it all to work. Also has the gear indicator in the dash as well.

the escalade cluster is what i really like. however if its gonna be a big headache to get it to work correct, I will just go with single aftermarket gauges. How do you go about getting a fuel gauge to work?

Not too expensive and will do everything I need it to do for a street/strip car.

Depending on the original sender for the fuel gauge it may just be a matter of getting the correct gauge for the OHM range of your sender. GM, Ford, and Chrysler are popular enough that autometer has a gauge for them. If it's not one of the big three you'll likely have to get a sender to go along w/ the gauge and then it's just trail and error to get it to read correctly.

I still haven't got mine perfect or close to it yet, full it reads 3/4 of a tank... at least it prompts me to get gas when it's at E, which is about 1/4 a tank

We purchased the digital gauge from Summit Racing and love it.The picture doesn't really do it justice. It is bright but not so bright that it blinds the driver.
