Get rid of the chrome trans pan, they fukin leak! Other than that it is a bad-*** build. More pics, please
Thanks for the kind words. The trans pan is polished cast aluminium and it has had fluid in it for 2 years without a drop leaked. However, things could go south once it’s driven.
The car car is moving under it’s own power now, still some things to sort out. It’s in the paint shop now getting some of the
battle damage repaired. Hopefully it will be ready to take out on the road soon.
The car is running and driving under it’s own power. Of the hundreds of things that could have gone wrong, dozens did. It’s got a vacuum leak that I can’t find and I need to change the MAP from a 2 bar to a 3 bar. I’m having difficulty finding someone that wants to help me chase down the problems. All of the LSX tuners that I have found here in SoCal only want to hook it up to HPTuners and play on their laptops. If there are any mechanical problems with the car they aren’t interested in it. Oh well, I’ll keep looking.
OK so I went a little nuts. I removed the LSA setup and replaced it with a BDS 871. The blower was pretty much a bolt-on
except for having to machine an adapter for mating the Innovators West harmonic balancer to the blower crank pulley.
The biggest job was re-routing almost all the underhood wiring, removing an 18” section of the cowl and cutting a 7”x18”
rectangle out of the bottom of th windshield. (Ala-Funny Car) I’ve got a local water jet company working with me on cutting
the glass. So far no luck on cutting the windshield without it breaking, so far we’ve broken 2. I’ve got an idea on how to do this
without breaking it. When it works I’ll let you know how we did it.
