my explorer turbo sport
just started this project tuesday, so dont expect anything crazy yet.
i picked up an 01 explorer sport with no motor, no trans on sunday. then tuesday night we picked up a pretty bare lm7 to use for mock up. it has headers, and complete intake to pan. but no accessories or wiring.
plan for this build is a stock 5.3, with a built 4l80, and engine bay space will dictate if its twin or single turbo.
power wise, i'm going to start at 600, have some fun with it, then push harder and harder until i find the limit the engine will take with this setup. the second motor will be put in, and i'll run a little bit less boost.
bringing it home
threw slicks and skinnies on it for a little inspiration lol
cheap motor
motor sits in there nicely

i need to figure out where to buy those poly bushings to make some motor mounts.
the truck headers wont work if flipped forward and down, the one side hits the upper control arm mounting bracket. if i flip them forward and up, will i have issues with the alt and power steering.
what headers run more straight back then they do down?

Doesn't holley make some cast ones that are more or less mostly back? Found them, would this work? http://www.holley.com/types/LS%20Cas...0Manifolds.asp

Thanks for the ideas guys, once I get back from vacation, I'll get the motor mounts done and see what kind of space I have. I've been looking at the up and forward turbo manifolds on eBay. They look like they would be a nice setup.
