Yes. That problem was solved when I hooked up the VSS. Without the VSS, everytime I came to a stop, it missed so badly it would stall. The fact that the engine reached operating temperature was immaterial. The ECU was looking for an indication of what was going on and I wasn't providing that information. It appears to be doing fine in the little time I've been driving it.
Just an FYI, my fuel pressure regulator is vacuum operated. Engine temperatures seem to be in check. I went ahead and put in an SLP 180 degree unit. My electric fans are not computer controlled. They work independently via a temp sensor I adapted to the block screw-in freeze plug. The temp sensor is set at 180 degrees.
