The timing is set on 28 at WOT, only runs on premium. Its been tuned. I did not degree the cam when it was installed. I wouldnt say it was thown together but it was done on a tight budget. It made peak power about 5700.

Any plans of swapping out the truck intake? I imagine that is going to limit your power at higher RPMs.

If your sticking NA then an LS6 intake makes sense, if your boosting it its a waste of money.

Is that the valve train that you hear in the video that's ticking or is it an exhaust leak? My car sounds very similar and it drives me nuts. My cam only 5.3 did just over 500 wheel on 8.6lbs of boost with a little mpt70 so you should hit your goal pretty easy.

Im staying with the truck intake. No plans on turning it to hard. Glad to hear a little boost makes great power!! The ticking must be the exhaust. Now on to saving for the turbo!!

Hell yes, glad I found this thread. I'm doing the same thing as I type this. But I'm doing it in my 02 camaro. Only difference is I have 4.11's, lt's and have my ls6 intake on it, o and 862 heads But hopefully ill make close to 330 that would be nice. Did you do port work or just the milling? Cool little truck tho

Also did you drive it untuned or did you need to have it trailered? Just trying to make sure I have a trailer lined up if I need one.

No port work on the heads just milled them to get the compression back up. The truck actually ran really well with no tune. But it picked up nicely with a good street tune.

Cool thanks for the info man. I just have to hook up my exhaust and a few other loose ends and should be running.

did you have to change the gear on your crank when you changed the cam gear? And why the ls3 cover and not the ls2 cover,. I'm doing a turbo lm7 swap in my dime and bought a ls9 cam on a whim...So here I go lol
