Default Coolant Temperature Sensor mounted on the steam hose coming from the water pump?

I was looking to install a water/coolant temperature sensor, i don't want to remove the existing electrical sensor that is on my drivers side head or drill and tap the passengers side head. i heard a reading can be taken from the water pump or the steam/bypass hose running there by using a T. how would i go about doing this?

here is an image of the bypass hose running from the water pump i hope to T my coolant temp sensor into. any ideas? thank you

That plug is in the passenger head and would work perfect.

I drilled And tapped my water pump on the side bc the top part wouldn't have allowed the coolant temp sender to go in far enough...

I wouldn't put a temp sensor in the bypass line. The coolant flow rate through there has to be so small that I can't imagine you getting an accurate reading.

I tried an aftermarket gauge on the crossover and got a crazy reading , prob 50 degrees higher than actual temp

I have one ran inline w/ the top hose, reads fine... when the thermostat is open. If I'm watching the computer I can see when the temp it 190 and then the gauge in the dash finally swings to 190.

One more thing on my to do list.
