How much do you think you in it for now? I'm doing the same build and trying to stay under 10k using a t56.
what converter are you using? and are you going to do a FMVB? I'm just wonder how much cheaper it will be to go 4l80e vs t56 including clutch.
your my motivation haha I pick up my engine tmrw!!!!

Its a junkyard 80e with an hd2 kit and a yank 3200. Don't have very much into it.

He is definitely farther than me but I am at $2555 right now, including the price of the car. I still need have my trans rebuilt, custom stall, wiring harness re worked, fuel injectors/lines/fittings. But my current total has some unnecessary things in it too like adjustable shocks and engine bay panels and fuel cell. Those aren't NEEDED to make it swapped..but it's nice!

Actually I'm living temporarily in my fiances parents house until we close on our own house. Once that happens I'll have my own garage and can finally do some stuff. I have plenty of parts to keep me busy for awhile.
Can't say it enough man...nice progress! Can't wait to see her run!

So I had some heartbreak last night. After a little bit of messing around we got it started. It had good oil pressure and was primed before starting. It idled for a couple seconds and then we heard this happen. Sounded pissed off in a good way. I dropped the pan as far as I could (motor needs to be pulled to drop the pan) and I can see the rod broken clean about 2" from the crank. I don't know what happened, it's driving me crazy thinking what could have happened though. Any ideas? I'll keep you guys posted as well.
