theyre really not that hard. honestly i thought they were goin to be alot harder but i was wrong. well it also depends on what your swapping into and what kinda mods and stuff you wanna do.

I'm doing a 5.3 turbo swap in a 1996 roadmaster. My biggest fear is wiring and tuning. Fitting shouldnt be an issue seeing as they sell swap mounts for everything imaginable.

Wiring isn't bad.I used to be afraid of it but now I've done several harnesses and learned that they're actually pretty easy. Especially with that Lt1swap.com site.

I wouldn't be scared of a standalone but trying to merge the 2 together to make the speedometer and ses light work is what seems to be a tall task

well this past weekend besides picking up that trans i picked up a free set of headers. oh also got a turbo hotside for a LS swapped fox body. dont think ill be keeping it though.

headers are 351 swap headers with LS flanges. buddy built them for his 5.3l fox with the same k-member but was scared of the k-member so went a different route.

and my new favorite pic:

well its kinda my daily driver. im waiting to get most the parts together. the trans i bought needs to be gone through and i cant afford it yet. plus i gotta take the motor back to my buddies house (hopefully sometime soon) to finish the blower box.

i do have a harness but no ecu at the moment.

trust me ive been wanting to start on it already.

i might just start pulling it apart here soon before the weather starts getting bad. although im in california. lol

Have you given any consideration to how hard its gonna be to get those intake bolts out for the carb side? Or do you have an idea of access holes when the supercharger is off? And also, that supercharger pulley is 8 rib where the rest of your accessory stuff is 6 rib. How ya gonna run that? And did you take that into account when building the intake adapter?

theres holes on the top of the box to get the bolts in/out. just goin to run the 6 rib stuff. we made it so the belt is goin to ride in the middle of the blower pulley. actually the blower pulley is a 10 rib. so well hae 2 ribs on each side it can move around on.

I really like where this is going!!!!!

A few years ago I seen a guy do something similar to what your doing but on a jet boat. He tried putting a supercharger from a newer Pontiac 3800sc on a Olds 455. The problem he had at first was the the belt would pull down on the snout seperating the blower from the adapter he made from the intake. He ended up putting some support braces under the snout to the intake to help the belt pull.

From the pics it looks like it might could be something to consider...
Just thought I would add that to your thought process in case you run into any problems...

the only problem with it MOVING AROUND is when it moves on that one, it will move on the rest and then go flying off and get wrapped up around your driveline.

well like i said before the box isnt done. well be adding a lower support/idler pulley bracket to the front of the box thatll bolt to the front bolts of the valley cover.

we lined the belt up pretty good. if it does come off oh well. i dont drive fast or crazy so i dont think itll happen. i just build these things to say i did it.

Have fun!! If I would have been able to get them, I would have bought long tubes for my S-10 also. But $850 for a pair was just too far outside my one shot budget.

Best of luck with it and I hope you don't have to go too hog wild on the hood getting something to fit. Otherwise it will all just be too much in the way.
