Default Fuel tank vent

Best way to vent new fuel tank with only 1 outlet on my 72' Chevelle? Old tank had 3.

Thanks
Bob

The pump has a vent fitting but not sure of the best routing. The old tank had 3 lines going to a separator and 1 from the separator to a charcoal cannister up front. If I vent directly to a cannister then I have to somehow run it to the intake. Trying to keep my 5.3 as uncluttered as I can. By the way, anyone know if the cannister is dumped into the intake, does the ecm have to be programmed for it?

drill a small hole in the fuel cap, it will smell a little but requires nothing and works fine. that's how they were from the 1900's up until the 70s

I have mine in my truck ('71 Chevy) vented to the charcoal canister. The other fitting that originally went to the carb I just left open. The charcoal eliminates the fuel smell and it vents perfect.

Guessing you had the vapor separator tank. I ran the single vent to the tank and capped off the non used ports. You can connect the left side port to a charcoal canister. That can be hooked to the original purge solenoid on the intake. If you do not delete the purge function from Evap controls from the ecu, it will function normally.
Mine is vented to the vapor separator tank, then that just vented to the atmosphere.

If you don't have any of the stock vent lines, I would try one of the fixes stated to get it vented one way or another.

I would try drilling a hole in the sender unit top if there is room. Then insert a tube with a bend or two in it to try and keep fuel from flowing into it. The use a check valve inline with the tube/hose to a Charcoal Canister. If the Charcoal Canister had a port to the carb or intake track.. I would just run it to the intake filter or tubes, but pre the TB and MAF. Or even use the EVAP port.

Using the stock separator instead of the check valve would be idea.

Thanks everyone for your input, I am learning as I go about an LS swap.

Gary, on your photo it looks like 2 lines into one from the separator. Do they both attach to the tank vent line? Also, the line out of the separator has something attached, is that a filter?

Part of the function is to return condensed fuel back to the tank. I figured it would pool in one side or the other of the can. So I put a "T" in the fuel tank vent line and connected to the to side ports, capped the center.
The port that should go to the canister just has cheap fuel filter on it to keep junk out.
