converting my 2000 GMC Sierra Classic from a 454 to a 6.0
Hey guys. New to the game. My tow vehicle is a 2 wheel drive, 454 CI 2000 GMC Sierra Classic. Auto transmission. 3500HD series (old body style)
Looking to do a 6.0 conversion after finding an engine mount conversion kit in Summit Racing.
Questions are:
Will my existing transmission/torque converter work with it?
As far as computer, do I eliminate my old one completely?
Also, would I have to replace the radiator?
Want my AC, power steering, etc to work.
I have found a few engines complete on ebay (power steering pump, alternator, A/C compressor, exhaust manifolds..basically everything)
I am trying to make the conversion as stock looking as possible without hacking up the truck. It is a very clean truck, just needs more power.
I am trying to do this without breaking the bank (otherwise I would just buy a newer truck).
Is this feasible....or am I delusional?
If anyone has done a similar conversion, please chime in. Thanks in advance!
