LS2 in 36 Ford 5w coupe

Ls1Nova71.........you are definitely the go-to guy for my questions.
I did see a plastic cap on the lower part of the throttle body. Do you think I can run a line from this out let to the throttle body? If it's filled with antifreeze now, wouldn't it just fill the throttle body with coolant?
I did see the back two are blocked off.
I have it pretty well all buttoned up ready to fire. Drilling into the water pump will be like taking 10 steps back. Any other alternatives? I'm leaning toward capping it...........

easy fix
In response to your problem....just cut into the upper radiator hose and add a short piece of pipe with the proper size hose fitting for the steamer line. These radiator inline hose adapters can be bought at Speedway or any race shop.

Jagsthatrun has the fittings you need to adapt the steam tube to the radiator, or hose. When I had to adapt my LS2 to an aftermarket aluminum radiator, I needed three different hoses because the connections are all different sizes. I bought an adaptor to fit two different size upper radiator hoses with the 1/4" steam crossover bung in the middle.
I kept the GTO steam rubber hose attached to the crossover tube and just cut it to fit.
Jagsthatrun has everything you need and can make anything to custom fit.

Thanks Gents.
The upper rad hose is a custom piece that is coiled in style. I wouldn't be able to cut into it without it leaking at some point. Sorry I don't have a picture to show but it's a chrome hose that allows for custom applications.
Even if I do switch to a rubber hose, how do I connect a fitting to a rubber hose?
This steam line has been the most puzzling part of the LS install.

Fyi
If you no not want to drill and tap the upper side of the water pump for a fitting or cut the upper rad hose for a tube with a fitting, then you must have a fitting installed in the top rad tank the size needed for the return steamer line. That's the way I would go.

That's what I did...
Went to 2 different stores, walked in back and looked at a hundred hoses till I found a lower one I could use as one piece, and 2 I could put the Jags hose adaptor between. It was just a matter of deciding where I wanted the inline adaptor to go to run the crossover hose to without it looking stupid.
The Jags piece is a very nice piece of aluminum, and was $25 complete. I'll try to get a picture or two of my setup for you.

I've been so busy that I turned over the completion of my LS2 installation to a friend who owns a classic car business. He is a very talented guy and a pleasure to deal with.
While I have been traveling, he finished off the wiring and a few other odds and ends.
I spoke to him today and he told me he fired it up and it runs well but thinks the inline fuel pump I have isn't a high enough pressure.
My question to those who run an inline fuel pump, which one are you using and what is the psi (if that is how they are measured)?? Looks like I may need to replace the one I have an install a more powerful one.

I generally try to use in tank pumps, but the couple of times I have use external pumps, I used a Walbro255, its pretty much the standard on mostly stock swaps. The pressure should be at least 58psi. What kind of pressure do you have? What regulator are you using?

LS1Nova71.......thanks for your reply.
The car is at my buddy's shop and I can't recall which pump I'm using and what psi it is. I'm picking it up Saturday and I will get the details then. Also not sure which regulator I'm using. I installed the fuel set up in the fall and at 55 my memory isn't what it used to be.
I called the guy I bought the motor and trans from. He also provided the fuel pump and fuel filter. I'll see what he has to say.
I will also post a video of it running this weekend.
Thanks again.

Another short video of my coupe running with the freshly installed LS2.
Now I am in the process of reassembling it and waiting for the warm weather.

The coupe runs! I drove it home today. It's like a totally different car compared to the 454 BBC I had in it previously.
Still need to figure out the temperature gauge and speedo.
Thanks to everyone who provided advice and guidance in this build.

It's been a few months since I updated everyone on my ls2 in my coupe.
I brought it home in March. My travel schedule is so busy I only drove it around the block a few times. It ran great and has a lot of power.
It sat untouched for about 5 weeks due to work.
Last week I wanted to take it for a spin but if I depressed the gas pedal it bogged out and would barely keep running. Felt like it wasn't getting fuel.
The OBD shows a code of P0174 (fuel trim system lean bank 2)
This is what I have checked so far:
-replaced fuel pump and filter
-removed and cleaned MAS and rechecked connection
-checked all vacuum lines (all good)
-no leaks in exhaust
Any other suggestions other than taking it to a GM dealer?

So you already replaced the pump? I probably would have done a little more diagnosing before spending that kind of cash, but that's just me, I'm cheap sometimes. Anyway, what is your fuel pressure? Also, don't know what kind of fuel you have in Canada, but the crap around here is notorious for clogging/sticking injectors. Five weeks isn't a super long time, but could happen I suppose. Does it rev in neutral? Also, if you baby it will it run any better? Sometimes just getting it out and actually running it for a while will help with this kind of thing.

I had an extra pump and filter that came with the engine/harness package so there was no cash outlay
I tried babying it but I couldn't get it up fast enough to shift through all the gears.
If I rev it in the driveway, it still bogs
Tomorrow I'm going to borrow a fuel pressure gauge from a friend. I think about 35 psi is the ideal pressure. Agree?
It's a little frustrating since I want to get out and get some miles in it. Was planning on driving it to the Syracuse Nats but there is nothing worse than a break down that far from home.
Thanks again
