Starting to collect parts now that the holidays are over.

Drum spindles and hubs from a friends el camino, C5 brakes and wheels. I don't plan to keep the wheels.

Are the c5 brakes a bolt-on to the chevelle's spindle?

almost, the hub has to be machined down to 5.94 to fit the rotor, and you need an adapter bracket. kore3 sells the bracket for c5/c6 conversions.

But, 98-02 fbody camaro/trans am brakes are very similar. and the adapter brackets are even cheaper. I know a guy that laser cuts them for around $75.

Picked up my 6L90e from a 2013 silverado 2500 with 2 miles on it! Was damaged in transport to the dealer.

Couple questions as I will be building a 71 here shortly and installing a vintage air or classic auto air system. Do both of these aftermarket a/c & heat systems not any of the stuff on the firewall? If so I will probably smooth it out like you did, looks very nice.

Also how well does the vintage air system work? I have seen some people say it is great and others say it isn't that cold of an a/c.

How do you make or seal up the blower motor hole when you run your lines through it?

My vintage air kit works great, I'm very satisfied with it. I have talked to a few people with classic auto air systems that mentioned that it can't keep up with the heat here in Texas. Here are a few pics of my vintage air setup in my. 71.

You can see more of the 71 if you click the link in my signature.

Did you make that block off plate? or is that the plate that is included in the vintage air kit?

Does the vintage air kits make you add a bar underneath the dash where the vents and controls are located? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to figure out which route to take.

What motor mounts are you using? Also, that's quite a large trans tunnel. I did not realize how much larger the 6L80E vs the 4L60

I modified mounts I bought off eBay. The tunnel is big enough to hide nitrous solenoids above the trans.... but don't tell anyone lol.

The 6L90 is stronger than the 6L80 Too!!! They put the 6L90 in the auto CTS-V's behind the LSA's so it should be nice and strong, Are the ratios the same as the 90 from the V as in the 2500 Silv!! Also if you dont mind, actually I dont want to know how much, it will probably make me cry!!! lol..

Have you swapped your front end parts over yet, cause I think the back of the fender where it meets the door is shaped different on the four door vs a two door.

I dont know for sure on the ratio's but i believe they are the same. And I paid $750 for the trans. Found it at an LKQ in kentucky, went back to buy the L96 from the same truck and rick hendricks racing had bought all the engines and transmissions from the vehicles on the damaged transport truck.. I was like WTF!
