Outside view of the M3 doing it's first test run at the Shift S3ctor Airstrip event. Kalon was soft shifting early in each gear since it's a fresh motor.

This week.

Friday we made a quick, but very sturdy harness bar for the M3, since Kalon had a track day on Saturday.

We also swapped wheels, tires, and had fun with the wheel color :thumbsup2:

The 275 NT05s made traction a huge problem at Big Willow on Saturday, thank God Kalon loves to drift!

Sadly I couldn't experience the M3 at the track on Saturday because we had a booth at the SoCal Vintage BMW Show, but I heard Kalon put on quite the drift show with the car!

Custom fender flares, wider wheels, 315s and a 3.15 LSD coming soon to aid the traction issues!

Maybe if this was a straight line car, for Time Attack/the road course, it's already over powered. Longer gears, and wider rubber will aid this.

If we want more power, we'll just upgrade to a Fast 102 intake manifold and throttle body, better air intake, E85 and a re-tune for well over 600whp.

Thanks! We met at the Airstrip event you showed up to, LOVE your LS powered FD!

As far as weight, we haven't weighed it, but it should be around 2900 without driver right now.

Do you have all of your stock gauges working and how did you deal with all the canbus issues?

Sorry for the lack of updates everyone, Forgestars should be here in a few weeks, takes 6 weeks for them to be custom made... When we get them we'll get the tires mounted and get started on the fender flares.

A factory S54 engine harness and DME are being put back into the car as well, in order to get the M3's ABS to work.

After experiencing some fuel starvation on the track, we're also going with a Radium Engineering fuel surge tank.

Hopefully we will start the cage soon as well.

BIG UPDATE! The Forgestars are finally here! Kalon ordered 6 18x11s and 2 18x12s. We're going to see how the car does with a square set-up versus a staggered set-up on the track.

The E39 M5 3.15 ring an pinion are also being put in, along with a mild rebuild on the stock M3 diff. The longer gears will definitely help put the torque down better, as we get wheel spin at 80 in 4th gear on the freeway, with sticky 285s out back!

Radium Engineering also came on as a sponsor for a fuel surge tank and a dual AEM pump set-up to prepare us for E85 down the road. Those parts will be at the shop early next week!

Enough blabbing and onto the goods:

So Radium Engineering came on as a sponsor for the project and hooked us up with one of their awesome fuel surge tank, which we will be setting up to dual AEM 320lph pumps to be ready for E85 if we decide to run that fuel.

This piece is absolutely gorgeous, and dealing with Radium for this product has been a great experience!

Please check out their website if you're in need of their products: http://www.radiumauto.com/

Also here are a few cleaner shots of the wheels, more to come as we start the fender flare process!

Just for those of us who don't have 36 inch monitors, can you please downsize the pictures? Some of your writing is 3 pages wide on my monitor because of the ginormous pics.

800x600 or 800x450 usually works really nice.

By the way, EXCELLENT work on those header welds. top notch there.

The widebody fender flare project began today and Chris and the guys have made quick work of it. These are not the finished product, but they are a really good solution for our track day this Saturday.

The wheels specs (with 25mm spacers all around)

Front: 18x11 et5 with a 315/30/18 Hoosier A6
Rear: 18x12 et0 with a 335/30/18 Hoosier A6

I'll post more pics of progress tomorrow night!

Starting the process

Adding the edge of the factory flare back on

Metal cleaned up

Some bondo added (just for shaping)

Primed and done for the time being, other side being tackled as I post this!
