7 second 1/8th mile car for $6000 on motor alone? Trans can just be rebuilt and not have to buy a new one. Usual rebuild cost is around 700-1000 depending on who does it and if its removed from the car by the shop which drives the price up or if you yank it out and they bench build it..

I would say to start offering and see what happens, start around 4600 and go up if you have CASHOLA IN HAND!! Whats the worst he will say, NO?? BUT, do NOT under any circumstances bring CASH to the deal. Not that amount. If you two reach a price, have him follow you to the bank and get the money in exchange for the title standing at the window or in a bank officers office behind closed doors. Then return with your trailer for the car immediately following. Or ask him to meet you at the bank with the car, since it has 2nd and reverse, you can unload and re-load it fairly easy. Even if you have to back it onto the trailer.

I think 6k is a solid price for that car.
BigEd is right though 4600(ish) would be a lot better pricing for you on it.

I own the car don't waste you time offering $4600 lol and you can bring cash look at my trader rating on here lol I'm not a strong arm robber. The car is here for sell in the Texas classifieds also . Look up the wiring harness kmember headers, converter, and a nice cammed 6.0 with 243 and see what all that will cost. Then the time to do the work. The transmission can be rebuilt but make sure who you have rebuild it knows what they are doing or your better off buying another cheap stock transmission

Any one that has built one will know what the parts alone will cost. This is the third one I have owned. I didn't build this one but I did build 2 before it. I bought this one from a friend to help him out. The body and interior are a little ruff but the car is over 25 years old. the car did run a 7.04 in the 1/8 mile with a 1.49 60ft on motor. It should pick up a little more with a better intake it has a regular ls1 intake on it. It really needs at least an ls6 intake or a fast setup for the 6.0 and cam. If I don't sell the car it will probably get a th350 or 2 speed glide along with some ls3 heads and ls3 intake and at that point it will be well into the 6's in the 1/8th
