By the way, purely as a suggestion, I would go to walmart and buy a gallon of the purple power, and haul that yacht to a car wash, BLAST the engine bay and steering stuff and cross members with the PURPOW and let it sit for about 3 minutes. DO NOT wash ahead of spraying.... Then go to town using the wash part so that HOPEFULLY there is hot water coming out. It should peel that dirt and grime off the engine bay and other stuff to make it a LOT cleaner and easier to work on.

It looks like you have clearance on the crossmember.I see you are having the same issue with your drag link.I was able to flip mine for clearance.I fabbed mounts for mine, but it looks like gto mounts would be easy to adapt.

As long as the gasket isn't insanely smashed, it should be re-usable. There are two spots on the pan gasket that were riveted in my H3 pan. as for alignment, you should be able to drop in the corner bolts and it stay pretty well aligned for the rest. But when in doubt, buy a new one.. Better safe than sorry, know what I mean?
edit... looks like rockauto it is! cheap love that place

as far as if they are "THE SAME" or not, I could not tell you. I know they don't mention anything specific for restrictions when swapping over to the H3 pan as I did.
Go to the GM dealership first and pick their brain on it, but ask to talk to one of the mechanics on duty that has done lots of LS work. He might act a bit uninterested until you tell him its a swap project and what you are putting it into. his ears will perk up and his eyes will probably want to go all glazey looking...

so... been kinda thinking putting the turbo behind the motor and above the trans maybe even flipping the intake around if i dont intercool it... dunno yet. need to get to cutting.
next couple days im gonna pull everything back out and pull the pan back off and trim the pan and cross member enough to where it sits as low as possible then ill start triming the trans tunnel

I would not go behind motor.
I would go in front so you have less pipework to run. For both the hot and cold side.
The engine bay is definitely large enough for the twins to be on the outward side. That will give you more of an option to install the intercooler up in front of the rad, and allow you go low from the turbo to the intercooler, then the intercooler to the intake is pretty much a straight shot, depending on how the intercooler is built.
I saw one guy take 2 small scirocco radiators for a 358 SBF with 88mm turbo and plumbed them in to allow the intercooler to just shoot straight into the intake of the motor.
And I would definitely go with the biggest throttle body you can find to fit the intake you are using.

But from what I am seeing here if u position the mounts on the oppsite side of the block it might afford u less cutting on the trans tunnel. Who knows might be worth a shot

ill try that this weekend. might just make enough room for a transfer case and make it all wheel drive to keep up with that sonoma!

You would need 1100 HP to keep up with a Sonoma... LOL
Just double check your options for mounting and spacing things around. You might be surprised at what you could get in that engine bay with minimal to no cutting. I got this 5.3L into my S-10 with only trimming an upper control arm.
Be patient and exhaust all options before going to that car with a sawzall or whatever to cut on it.

its hard to show in pics how tight it really is. this 4L80e is alot bigger than the original 3 speed. right now the trans is wider than the tunnel and cant get to the coolant holes or shift linkage.

and im not gonna hack this thing and i could care less about resale value. i won it for $10 and i dont ever plan on getting rid of this thing. my goal is to be as clean and reliable as possible. this isnt my first rodeo. trust me this is gonna be an adventure.
