no problem swapping the engine and and cooling system or wiring and will build the fuel system. (done a ls swap in a cj7 so I'm familiar) my question is what to do for gauges? I would actually like to use the 04 cluster in the 86 dash but since they are so different i'm wondering what can be done there. I thought about switching the whole 04 dash in as I saw one in a 86 on ebay and didn't look too bad and not to mention then having dual climate control. I do not want Dakota digital. also doing the 04 rear diff and have a 9.25" front differ from a 08 dodge 3/4 ton for the front diff with drivers side drive line. the plan is to put a big single turbo and drag race this thing next summer. any ideas or links would help thanks.

Yeah i'm going to see what i can do with the stock gauges from the 04 so its plug and play and the speedo is programmable with efi live. if the HVAC would work I will put the whole 04 dash in and sterring column.

99+ truck dashes are a pretty common upgrade. Only problem is they look a little out of place with the door panels and there is a weird gap on top by the windshield. I liked the simplicity of the 80 dash so I kept it and went Autometer. I'll post pics when I get home. Only thing is the gauges kinda add up. I think I paid ~$600 for all my gauges. All Autometer Pro Comp. damn speedo is the most expensive part. Cable x box will cost around 400 and the stock gauges are a bit crusty anyway so I couldn't justify it.

I have pretty much decided to go with a classic dash and Speedhut gauges. wish i coudl go with the Can bus ones but 04 is too old I guess. I just like that i can customize them and not have to cut up my old dash. i will just save it.
