5.3 w/T-56
My uncle who has worked in dealership for like 30 years as long as you get the flywheel for that engine you don't have to worry about balancing the flywheel
Since the 5.3 never was offered with a manual
What do I do for flywheel
Especially if I wanna go aluminum
And I'll be putting this combo in an 89 Formula
Firebird
What do I need to do for driveshaft as well
Will a 4th gen for the t-56 work or do I have to go
Custom
Many people suggest having the flywheel balanced with the pressure plate bolted on for a little extra safety margin, especially if you plan to rev high.

I mean I know they are all the same block with insane amounts of interchangeable parts
As were all 265-400 Chevy
I know off the flywheel topic
But all things considered with heads all being interchagbale and same ports
There is no reason I shouldn't be able to run 4th gen ls1 trans am or camaro headers on a 5.3 in a 3rd gen
But seeing as how there are a few replies to this thread and seeming to be flywheels off of all different engines on different interchangeable engines and not having problems
So I should be fine with whatever I get
I don't plan on spinning past whatever factory redline is on either the 5.3 or 6.0 and generally only at the track

The iron block 5.3, 6.0, etc engines are configured the same as an LS1, 2, 7, etc (except 99-00).
Use an LS1 flywheel/clutch combo.
The 4th gen driveshaft will fit provided you have the correct u-joint for the rear. Just check. If not, you can get a conversion joint if need be. But I think it'll bolt right in if you have a stock rear with stock yoke.
My only other piece of advice is skip the pilot bearing and get a pilot BUSHING. It will work fine for you, and if for some reason something happens, the bushing will take all the abuse instead of your trans input shaft. I had a boo-boo with mine where one of the alignment dowels between the trans and bell got pushed through. So my trans wasnt lined up, and it completely wallowed out the bushing. But the shaft was great, new bushing, fixed the dowel and all was well. A bearing would have destroyed my input shaft.
Get one for a 69 Camaro 396 or something. Most auto stores will have them for super cheap.

What do I do for a torque arm.
Car actually didnt come with one the guy couldn't find amongst the 6 zircons he had
So I I need to do anything with the torque arm please let me know.
Will the factory torque arm work or do I need something else
I was thinking of just getting a new tubular torque arm
My 82s torque arm was mounted to the back of the tranny didnt mind that too much.
Will the t-56 be the same or will it mount to the crossmember or can the owner decide that
