That car is f'n gorgeous! We're doing a 68 Bird right now. Bodies about half done, starting basic with a 4.8 4L60 just for a fun cruiser for a few years. LS6 cam, headers etc. Basic fun DD type car. Going for a 70's hotrod look with 15" wheels and fatties with some rake to it.

I do all the work myself. I believe hooker headers makes swap crossmembers and headers for the swap. But I have no clue how much any of this could add up to. Have any of you all tackled something like this and if so how much did you spend start to finish?
I would know since I am doing the swap now. $10,000 for a low mileage L99/6L80E. Automatic version of the LS3. $600.00 to reconfigure the wire harness. $750.00 to flash the ECU and write a tune file. $600.00 for the Kwik AC, PS and ALT relocation brackets. $700.00 for the Replacement trans and oil pan. $1300.00 for headers and motor mounts, and whatever cost for exhaust. There's obviously more but this should give you enough to make a decision. Also the Hooker kit will not work with the 6L80E auto trans.
