tapping the lq9 block for alt

tapping the lq9 block for alt I have an 02 camaro with a lq9 block. My stock alt is very weak and decided to up the anti with a 145amp out of a fullsize. Well, I got to looking to make sure they were both 4 pin and they are, but...
The stock ls1 block has two bolt holes for the alt, as where the lq9 has one, sure everyone knows that.
My dalima is a stock ls1 atl uses those two bolt holes plus one in the rear. The truck atl uses only the two in the front block.
So I cannot do the swap without tapping that hole. Has anyone successfully tapped the iron block while in the car? Cause that's what I'm about to have to do.

There are a ton of threads floating around with directions (how deep to drill, what tap, etc).
I did mine in the car, but it wasn't an F-body. All you need is an angle drill and a steady hand. The iron drills very easily and its not a big deal if the hole isn't perfectly straight
