Foxbody swap question

Default Foxbody swap question

I started my swap and finally got the motor and trans in. I also took out the 7.5 from the mustang and but in 8.8 rear in place. Im confused as to what brake lines i would run I imagine the Mustang v8 lines and what about the front rotor brake lines. I have ordered the mustang v8 spindles,rotors calipers as well with v8 brake lines anyone know if i need to replace brake booster or something that i miss as far as brake line or anything else overlooked? Thanks in advance

I used my stock booster and used the brake lines from the 7.5 transferred over to the 8.8. My car stops fine at 107 in the 1/8 mile.

Something about the 4 cylinder struts is different too. I think they are too narrow where they bolt to strut.

The 4cyl spindle mount for the struts is wider than the V8 spindle mount for the struts. Also the V8 spindle/strut bolt center is different than the 2.3L spindle/strut bolt center.

The 2.3L booster and master cylinder will work fine with V8 front brakes and I am pretty sure the rear brakes are the same.

The 2.3L chassis has the rear brake line running down the passenger side floor pan exactly where the passenger side muffler would mount, you will need to move that rear brake line. You can just swap to the v8 chassis rear brake line and it will work fine with the 8.8 axle.

The brake lines that run on the 7.5 rear differential? you swapped them over to the 8.8 differential?

if you want to keep it 4lug v8 front brakes from a 87-93 car (like everyone said you'll also need v8 specific front struts and a v8master (booster will be fine)

the rear drum brakes are all the same from 4banger to v8

I went to the junkyard and took everything off a 1996 V6 mustang. That included all brake lines, brake booster, master cylinder, caliper mounts, etc. Now I have 4 wheel disc for a little over a $100. Car stops great, but I haven't been to the track yet.
