Gbody floor shifter with 4l60 + b&m cable
The factory cable was too short to use with the 4l60e, original combo was a 305/2004r in my 88 Monte carlo ss. So I ended up buying a 5ft B&m cable to try and use with the factory shifter and trans.

[QUOTE=BOXCHEV;17890898]Got shift mocked up a little. Been trying to mess around with adjusting it.
I tried making this laying on my back, with LT headers in my way. Was hard trying to get the pen up there and mark it perfectly.
When I move the shifter this is how it looks on the detent plate now.
Should I make a new detent plate or try to modify the original one? There are no notches for 1st and 2nd Looking for opinions

My El Camino didn't come with stock floor shifter, but I spent a lot of time trying to get a fourth gen F-body shifter to work and failed. I ended up using a B&M shifter because I could make it fit with a (new) stock console. Everything I read on the interweb said that a stock G-body shifter wouldn't work. Not sure how I missed this thread.
