Default ly6 in a Comanche

So iv managed to find a great deal on a 07 ly6 with 8k on it. $125 bucks actually. But the block has a few cracks that I'll post pics of. Regardless I'll be fixing that and needing an intake, harness, computer, tb, oil pan, balancer, and all acc. Wondering what my best bet will be for power/price/fitment.

How did the block get cracked? Were you able to check the internal components for cracks or damage? Unless you can get all the stuff at a U-Pull yard it will cost $1000 or more once you get all the parts you need.

Welcome to LS1Tech! An LS Comanche sounds like a sweet project! Unfortunately Sub-par nailed my first thoughts... 1st: Confirm that there is no internal or functional damage to the engine. 2nd: Piecing together all those other parts is going to take time AND a lot of cost. But if you are dedicated, totally do-able! Best of luck, and lets see some pics of the LS recepient!

Not sure how it got damaged but internally it's good. A friend works at a junk yard and they were going to throw it out! If I'm patient I think I can get most stuff for a cheap price. Plus the stuff I need would get upgraded eventually anyway. anyway here's the project. I'm planning on doing Toyota axle swaps. Running a sm465. And planning for about a 37" tire! Should be a ton of fun.
Nvm my hillbilly friend in the background. Haha

Should have the block welded up this weekend. Also found an Ls3 intake new in box for 225. What's the best choice for injectors and rails? Also I'm thinking I'll use an ls3 oil pan for more clearance. Do I only need the pan or the pickup also?

That is not a good price for a bare intake. You can get these intakes used with the injectors and rails for about that.

Been reading up a little more on intakes and it seams the factory truck intake is almost equal to the ls3. I think I'll sick with it as long as I can clear it under the hood. I emailed Novak adapters ( getting the motor mounts from them) to see if it will fit. I also read that ls3 injectors are 41# compared to the stock truck injectors are 28# if I remember?

Got the engine out of jeep today. Took about 2.5 hours with only simple hand tools. Motor mounts should be in next week. Haven't had time to get the engine welded up yet but hopefully soon.

Iv got the block welded up. Working on finding an intake. Got most of a harness out of a trail blazer ss. What computer should I be looking for to run this engine? Also a friend of mine made a throttle body conversion plate to run TBC instead of tbw. Should save me a little trouble of mounting the peddle. and on a side not we mounted up a 5.3 into a 69 nova. Another cool project
